View Full Version : How should a MoFo Top Animated Films list work?

I'll make one poll. I think I know the result already, anyway.

Definitely one poll.

Shorts belong and if they aren't included I'll question whether I submit a list. That's not to pout and get my way like a certain Mofoer often does, but to not incude them is so ****ing ridiculous that I'd have trouble seeing past it.
Also, I'm not sure what defines hybrid but if an animated film like It's Such a Beautiful Day isn't allowed because it has some live-action frames then...I don't know.

I haven't seen that particular film, but to me a hybrid would be something along the lines of Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Space Jam. A few frames of live action are fine, IMO.

Agree with Harry Lime about shorts. Of course they should be included, why include all sorts of different rules for an animation list? Just do it pretty much the same as the others.
I've contacted Weeman anyway, hopefully he'll respond, I know he's been busy this weekend though.

A clear definition is needed then.

I would say do what IMDB defines under the genre "Animation". It's simple, yet effective. The only problem is it has Team America listed in the category, and I don't think it's an animation even if it is great.
The problem with using IMDb is it's sketchy. It counts both Team America and Roger Rabbit as animation. Team America is definitely NOT animation in any sense of the word, and Roger Rabbit is a hybrid I don't think should be counted.
I'm like 98% sure I'd be able to commit to the hosting role, I'm not sure that's enough for all of you though :p Also, graphics wise, I am not especially brilliant, so if someone who was more suited to creating the imagery wanted to run the list, that would be fine as well.
The poll isn't a bad idea by any means if more than one person wants to run the list.
(I've never had so many people want to contact me at once :p )

I'm awful with graphics which is a major reason why I was hesitant to host. Rodent offered to help me with graphics if I ended up with the job, I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping you as well if you want.

I would offer to make you graphics, but I will be doing the 60s list and it's good to have different graphics for each list, mix it up, unless someone has an idea for a layout, has a template etc then I can probably do them easy enough.

I'm also more than happy to help out with a few graphics if need be. :)

you already did graphics for 80s and they were so bad, please no
The graphics thing was one of my main sticklers for taking on the job. I think I'd be happy to do it. The only thing would be that I can't really promise a uniform time for the release of the countdown like Holden Pike has done at around 12:00pm (GMT) each day there or there abouts, because my work and my study don't really fit around uniform times. If that's a problem for anyone, then I don't mind giving the job to someone else, or the poll being run to determine a host.
Other than that, again, I'd be completely happy to do it.

I didn't do any graphics. None.

I have a crazy schedule, but I'm a night owl and could be consistent with the time of posting - which would likely be 9:00 p.m. Pacific time, equivalent to Holden's midnight posts.
But, again, I would need assistance with graphics and I feel like an animated countdown needs graphics. Plus Holden set the bar pretty high with the 70s countdown.
I'm fine doing it or having weeman do it.

Maybe we ought to have a poll since neither of us can make a decisive statement about who is hosting.

Yeah I don't mind really. At the end of the day, it's "kind of" fair :p

After reading the BS going on in the poll thread, I'm leaning back towards thinking that this P.I.T.A. can be your problem, weeman.

How about a poll to decide whether or not have a poll?

No need to flip. Like I said, this pain in the *** is all his if he still wants it.
