This is something I'd been thinking about long before I started posting here a few days ago. This list is not perfect, as I haven't seen so many things that are on most of the lists I've read on this board. One of the reasons I began to post here is so I can step outside my little box and see things I perhaps wouldn't have dared to before.

Anyway, I think I have my 100 down and ready to reveal. Be warned, a lot of stupid comedy is on this list. It's my downfall.

I'll post the first 5 a little bit later.

The problem with comedy is that it doesn't age well. Great comedy is hard to judge because time needs to pass. The Marx Brothers, for instance, still make me lol probably just as hard as they first did in the 30s and 40s.

Some "stupid comedy" I like off the top of my head are MP and the Holy Grail, MP's Meaning of Life, Airplane!, and Anchorman. Anchorman for more cultural reasons than anything, but as a film it is quite well done, I feel. It has that perfect combination of absurd that is so hard to criticize because then you look absurd.

100. Barbershop (2002)
(Ice Cube, Cedric The Entertainer)
http://www.thejayztour.com/1807812147p.jpg
"There are three things that Black people need to tell the truth about. Number one: Rodney King should've gotten his ass beat for being drunk in a Honda in a white part of Los Angeles. Number two: O.J. did it! And number three: Rosa Parks didn't do nuthin' but sit her Black ass down!"
http://www.sptimes.com/2003/01/02/photos/wk-video-BARBERSHOP.jpg

This is a movie I was dragged to see by my friends in High School. At the time I wasn't expecting to like it, let alone love it the way I do. It has a ton of heart and genuine laughs throughout for me. I came away caring about the characters and even impressed by the acting of rappers Ice Cube and Eve. What puts this movie over the top though, is Cedric The Entertainer. Several of his lines in this movie are gutbusters for me. I come away entertained every time I watch it and that's what I ask in a comedy movie.

99. Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006)
http://www.movieposteraddict.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/mpaborat.jpg
"I arrived in America's airport with clothings, US dollars, and a jar of gypsy tears to protect me from AIDS."

http://www.salon.com/entertainment/feature/2006/11/10/guide_to_borat/story.jpg

This is one hilarious movie and genius performance by Sascha Baron Cohen. To be as genuinely funny as he is while working with people who aren't in on the joke has to be extremely hard. Putting himself in those situations is truly a ballsy thing and this movie delivers.

98. Shoot 'Em Up (2007)
(Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti)
http://thecia.com.au/reviews/s/images/shoot-em-up-poster-3.jpg
"Guns don't kill people! But they sure help."

http://amysrobot.com/files/shoot_em_up.JPG

Intense, action packed flick with some great lines in there that will leave you laughing. If you can suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the kills for the campy awesomeness they are, you'll like this movie. Just a great, bloody time.

97. Gone Baby Gone (2007)
(Casey Affleck, Morgan Freeman)
http://www.strangerswithcandythemovie.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/gone-baby-gone.jpg
"Kids forgive, they don't judge, they turn the other cheek, and what do they get for it?"
http://www.murphyslawbar.com/images/gone-baby-gone-still2-th.jpg

This movie kept me in suspense and on the edge of my seat. Great twist reveal in the end and great performances by Casey Affleck, Ed Harris, and Morgan Freeman.

96. Juno (2007)
(Ellen Page, Michael Cera)
http://moviefreak04.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/juno-poster-7652021.jpg
"You should've gone to China, you know, 'cause I hear they give away babies like free iPods. You know, they pretty much just put them in those t-shirt guns and shoot them out at sporting events."
http://www.hollywoodchicago.com/uploaded_images/juno3.jpg

A bright, quirky comedy that is really charming. Ellen Page is wonderful in the title role and I admit I'm a big fan of Michael Cera and he was his usual quirky awkward self in this one. The movie had great dialogue too.

Having Gone Baby Gone in there already makes this list look pretty good. Juno was pretty good, Borat was blah to me. I haven't seen the other 2.

Ah yes, Borat, I'd forgotten. Quite a funny film! I haven't even seen any of the other besides Juno, which was fantastically, fantastically meh, and I disagree with it's ideology completely.

95. O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
(George Clooney, John Turturro)
http://www.movieposter.com/posters/archive/main/1/MPW-765
"Those boys desecrated a burning cross!"
http://www.offoffoff.com/film/2001/images/obrother.jpg

Witty and entertaining movie based on Homer's "The Odyssey". The Coen brothers delivered bigtime on this one and it's my second favorite movie of theirs I've seen (though admittedly there are still many I need to see.) Really great movie and Clooney is fantastic in this.

94. Zodiac (2007)
(Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo)
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PPgU44tBL8E/ScQEn_ptl8I/AAAAAAAAA4E/cU4NqLl8UxE/s400/zodiac+poster.jpg
"I am not the Zodiac. And if I were, I certainly wouldn't tell you."
http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Film/Pix/pictures/2007/05/01/zodiac460.jpg

This movie has a great flow and moves smoothly and is fascinating. Going in, I had no knowledge of the Zodiac killer case and as the movie progressed I felt deeply connected and longed for there to be resolution. Really enjoyed this.
93. Brian's Song (1971)
(James Caan, Billy Dee Williams)
http://image3.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID32043/images/brians-song-DVDcover.jpg
"Well, on uh, Fake Draw Screen Right I uh, pick up the linebacker if he's comin, 'less of course it's Butkus, then I simply notify the quarterback to send for a preacher."
http://www.themoviemind.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/brians-song.jpg

The ultimate guy tearjerker. It may help that I'm also a big football fan, but I think anyone could enjoy this movie. Hard to believe this is a made for TV movie, the quality is superb.

92. Zoolander (2001)
(Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson)
http://www.britannia.org/film/images/posters/img_00001419.jpg
"Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?"
http://queensberry-rules.com/images/stories/zoolander_vs_hansel.jpg

This is a ridiculously funny movie that I can continuously watch and enjoy. It is Ben Stiller's funniest movie in my opinion.

91. Ghosts of Mississippi (1996)
(Alec Baldwin, James Woods)
http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/MMPO/503324.jpg
"Today, thirty years later, I'm asking you twelve ladies and gentlemen to act boldly; to hold this defendant accountable and find him guilty... simply because it is right, it is just, and Lord knows, it is time. Is it ever too late to do the right thing?"
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_cM9WajkAdys/SwRpx7gXSJI/AAAAAAAAAlk/-xqt0lIYl8M/s320/photo_lrg.jpg

This is the tale of the third trial of Byron De La Beckwith, charged with killing civil rights activist Medgar Evers. The one thing that stands out to me in this movie is the portrayal of Byron De La Beckwith by James Woods. When I first saw this movie as a kid, James Woods terrified me. This character was the personification of evil. Still to this day I think it may be the best villain in any film...still kinda creeps me out and makes me uneasy.

90. School Of Rock (2003)
(Jack Black, Joan Cusack)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/11/School_of_Rock_Poster.jpg
"I have been touched by your kids... and I'm pretty sure that I've touched them."
http://pages.prodigy.net/zvelf/School_of_Rock_01.jpg

A very funny family comedy with a ton of heart. Jack Black for me is hit and miss, but here he was great. I thought the kids were fun and the whole movie is a great time.

89. Unleashed (2005)
(Jet Li, Morgan Freeman)
http://www.moviesonline.ca/movie-gallery/albums/userpics//unleashed_ver4.jpg
"You borrow money from me, you're expected to pay it back. You pay it back, the collar stays on. You don't pay it back, the collar comes of. A simple set of rules."
http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2005/08/17/unleashed_wideweb__430x282.jpg

I'm not normally very into martial arts movies. This is more than a martial arts movie. The action is intense but the characters are great. Bob Hoskins was a terrific villain in this movie. Thought it was very well acted too.

88. That Thing You Do! (1996)
(Tom Everett Scott, Liv Tyler)
http://www.siambig.com/shop/photo_product/movie-mania132610.jpg
"I've found that a hit record is like a stew. All the ingredients have to come together just right. Otherwise, it's just soup."
http://www.collider.com/uploads/imageGallery/That_Thing_You_Do/that_thing_you_do_movie_image_tom_hanks.jpg

This is one of many movies that made the list because my fondness of them from when I was a kid carries over into how much I like it today. I've seen this movie many times and I still enjoy it every showing.

87. Hardball (2001)
(Keanu Reeves, Diane Lane)
http://thecia.com.au/reviews/h/images/hardball-poster-0.jpg
"I want you guys to take a good look at yourselves and feel proud. We made it here. We're here. What I've learned from you is that really one of the most important things in life is showing up. I'm blown away by your ability to show up through everything that's gone on. The league never wanted you to play this game, but you showed up."
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sn4M8gFCgnM/SFAh9CWL-RI/AAAAAAAAAK0/VGHXmQ7KqeQ/s400/keanu_reeves_julian_griffith_hardball_001.jpg

Chock up another sports-related movie for me. There will be more. I've always really dug this movie and I think the performances of the kids is the main reason. Keanu was good, but the kids were great. Lots of heart in this movie.

86. Enchanted (2007)
(Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey)
http://www.girl.com.au/img/enchanted_art.jpg
"Thank you for taking care of my bride, peasants."
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/YMPOTyIQ7VQ/hqdefault.jpg

This live action Disney fairy tale is not a movie I expected to like as much as I do. Amy Adams is wonderful in the lead role, but the best part of the film in my opinion is every scene James Marsden is in. His part cracks me up.

85. Three Kings (1999)
(George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg)
http://www.trexle.net/img/posters/6/199311.jpg
"Bush told the people to rise up against Saddam. They thought they'd have our support. They don't. Now they're getting slaughtered."
http://www.watchmoviestreaming.com/pictures/threekings1.jpg

Great action, but also a very smart movie with a message. I really like this movie more and more on every viewing.

84. Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
(Abigail Breslin, Greg Kinnear)
http://reporter.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/200pxlittle_miss_sunshine_poster.jpg
"Oh my God, I'm getting pulled over. Everyone, just... pretend to be normal."
http://rippleeffects.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/vw-van-in-little-miss-sunshine.jpg
Perhaps it's because I'm from a pretty dysfunctional family, so I related to this movie...and that kind of scares me. I thought this was fantastically done and with great performances. I absolutely loved the ending too.

83. Dazed and Confused (1993)
(Jason London, Rory Cochrane)
http://sweetfuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/1219dazed-and-confused-posters.jpg
"Well, all I'm saying is that I want to look back and say that I did I the best I could while I was stuck in this place. Had as much fun as I could while I was stuck in this place. Played as hard as I could while I was stuck in this place... Dogged as many girls as I could while I was stuck in this place."
http://www.dvdjournal.com/reviewimgs/d/dazedandconfused_imgs/dazedandconfused_01.jpg

What a great teen film with a great ensemble cast. The characters are likable (well except the ones you aren't supposed to like). Very good film.

82. Just Visiting (2001)
(Jean Reno, Christina Applegate)
http://wpcontent.answers.com/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/8e/Just_visiting01.jpg/200px-Just_visiting01.jpg
"I am eating this very good meats and vegetables in a very fine sauce... I will s*** easy tomorrow"
http://images.allmoviephoto.com/2001_Just_Visiting/christian_clavier_just_visiting_001.jpg

This is one of the funniest movies I've seen. The interaction between Jean Reno and Christian Clavier is just tremendous. I found this on VHS back in early high school and my family just loved it. Wore the tape out. Funny, funny movie.

81. The Visitor (2007)
(Richard Jenkins, Haaz Sleiman)
http://www.filmdetail.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/the-visitor_poster.jpg
"You can't just take people away like that. Do you hear me? He was a good man, a good person. It's not fair! We are not just helpless children! He had a life! Do you hear me? I mean, do YOU hear ME? What's the matter with you?"
http://blogs.woodtv.com/files/2009/02/the-visitor-photo-courtesy-overture-films-3.jpg

Wow, how great was Richard Jenkins in this movie? I believe coming into this I had only seen him in minor roles in comedy movies (where he is also great). This movie blew me away.

*It's kinda funny how Just Visting and The Visitor ended up back-to-back. Wasn't intentional.

80. Big Fish (2003)
(Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney)
http://i.clevver.com/fullphoto/6722/500/950/big-fish-movie-poster-1.jpg
"A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal."
http://scribbleking.typepad.com/scribble_king/images/big_fish.jpg

This is the story of a son trying to find out the true story of his mysterious father. This is a marvelous movie, really beautiful on the eyes. I loved the casting in this movie, as I'm a big fan of Ewan McGregor. Really good flick.

79. National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)
(John Belushi, Tim Matheson)
http://blog.seattlepi.com/fremontoktoberfest/library/007_animal_house.jpg
"Thank you, sir! May I have another?"
http://www.onmilwaukee.com/images/articles/me/metcalffurst/metcalffurst_story1.jpg

One of the funniest comedies of all-time and still stands up today. What a movie.

78. Gladiator (2000)
(Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix)
http://www.posterspoint.com/laminas/cine/CINE165.jpg
"At my signal, unleash hell."
http://passionforcinema.com/wp-content/uploads/gladiator-2.jpg

What a wonderful movie. The battle scenes are awesome. The acting is top notch. The scenery is beautiful. Crowe is one of those actors that I'll see in anything. Oh, and that Phoenix guy isn't half bad himself...

77. Tropic Thunder (2008)
(Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr.)
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51d8uGDcd6L.jpg
"I know what dude I am. I'm the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!"
http://0.tqn.com/d/movies/1/0/-/t/R/tropicthunderpubq.jpg

Remember when I said Zoolander was Ben Stiller's funniest movie? Yeah, I forgot this one was on the list higher. Funny stuff. Downey Jr. was incredible as always.

76. Dogma (1999)
(Ben Affleck, Matt Damon)
http://imagecache2.allposters.com/IMAGES/MG/190920.jpg
"In the three years I followed his ass around Jerusalem, did I ever get laid? Hell no. And I was in my prime. I could've been knee-deep in shepherd's daughters, not to mention fine-ass Mary Magdalene. She had a thing for dark meat, if you follow me."
http://www.fortheretarded.com/images/dogma-matt&ben.jpg

What can I say, I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan. This movie pokes fun at religion, but in no-way is anti-religion. I think anyone with a sense of humor could like this flick. I'd hope so atleast.

The Prestige

So far haven't seen Just Visiting, Hard Ball, Ghosts of Missisipi, Brian's Song & Barbershop from your list.

Ghosts of Missisipi might be something of interest to me, don't care for the rest though.
As for the rest, Enchanted, didn't care for it much. But the rest of your movies are great.
Especially the comedies, we have similar taste in comedies.. School of Rock, Dogma, Zoolander & Tropic Thunder were too damn cool.

Brilliant movie by Tarantino. Loved the killing, loved the story. I always equate this movie with a funny story. I first watched this with my younger brother who was 20 at the time. As soon as the movie finished he turned to me and asked "So was that a true story?" I couldn't help but to laugh.

74. Cool Hand Luke (1967)

First saw this movie in cinema class in high school and it is the movie I loved the most out of the whole class. Paul Newman is awesome.

Yeah, I'll admit it...I'm a sucker for a good romcom. I just really like this movie. Touching flick.

71. Old School (2003)
(Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn)
http://thecia.com.au/reviews/o/images/old-school-poster-2.jpg
"True love is hard to find, sometimes you think you have true love and then you catch the early flight home from San Diego and a couple of nude people jump out of your bathroom blindfolded like a ******* magic show ready to double team your girlfriend..."
http://www.novafm.com.au/lib/images/gallery/full/Frank-the-Tank-Everybody-s-doing-it-4129.jpg

This is one movie that probably should be higher on my list, but I settled to put it here. Several comedies have come out since that are much funnier but when this came out it was hysterical. Still really love it.

"For over a thousand generations, the Jedi knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the old Republic... before the dark times... before the empire."

I remember watching a VHS of this my dad taped off of the TV as a kid. I watched it so many times I'd know when to scoot on over to the VCR to press fast-forward to get through the commercials before the commercial would hit. Great movie, and I'm not even really into Sci-Fi.

69. The Sandlot (1993)
(Tom Guiry, Mike Vitar)
http://www.uwec.edu/newsreleases/06/april/images/sandlot2.jpg
"Let me tell you something kid; Everybody gets one chance to do something great. Most people never take the chance, either because they're too scared, or they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes."

Another nostalgia flick from my youth AND another sports movie! Two for one! Anyway, I love this movie...alot.

This movie always makes me laugh. I'm such a big Woody Harrelson fan and BILL MURRAY is the villain. Gotta love it.

65. Hustle & Flow (2005)
(Terrence Howard, Anthony Anderson)

"There are two types of people: those that talk the talk and those that walk the walk. People who walk the walk sometimes talk the talk but most times they don't talk at all, 'cause they walkin'. Terrence Howard is awesome, and this movie is proof. Great music, great gritty story.

I like it when a surprise ending gets me and this one did. It probably should be higher on my list and might next time I put it together if I get to re-watch this again.

63. Clerks II (2006)

"We were just killing time with those classes! One semester we took Criminology, for Christ's sakes. What the **** were we training to be, Batmen?"

I'm a huge fan of Kevin Smith and this movie is awesome. The long-awaited sequel is flat-out hilarious.

62. Man On Fire (2004)

"Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting."

One of a few Denzel Washington films on this list. Intense, suspenseful thriller. Dakota was really great in this too.

I may get some flack for having this on my list, but I can't help what I like and I REALLY like this movie. A non-stop laughfest.

59. Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
(Dev Patel, Freida Pinto)

"When somebody asks me a question, I tell them the answer."
http://fromthegreenroom.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/hr_slumdog_millionaire_3.jpg?w=245&h=229

This is a movie I actually had zero interest in seeing when I heard about it. After some prodding from friends, I finally saw it shortly before the Oscars the year it won...and it blew me away. I thought it was a great tale and wonderfully done.

58. Bad Santa (2003)
(Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox)

Man, this movie is funny. Flat-out crude and hilarious. Billy Bob is great as the drunken thief Santa and they could not have possibly found a more creepy, but likeable kid for this movie.

57. Miracle (2004)
(Kurt Russell, Patricia Clarkson)

"You think you can win on talent alone? Gentlemen, you don't have enough talent to win on talent alone."
http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/080319/Sports/Miracle-Kurt-Russel_l.jpg

What, is that another sports movie? I really find this movie to be an inspirational patriotic movie. Again, I love sports and this is the tale of the biggest win in the history of United States hockey. Really dig this movie.

56. A Knight's Tale (2001)
(Heath Ledger, Paul Bettany)

If my brother were to make a top 100 list, I'd put money on the fact that this would rank top 5. I've seen this movie with him many times and I really do like it alot. I think Ledger is great, but Bettany really shines in this. Great, fun movie.

As are the rest of the films on that particular post. I disagree greatly with that entire post. The films on that post aren't even marginal like your post above. They are just bad. I have no idea why Slumdog won Best Picture either. That particular award has failed time and time again to chose anything of value. Take a look at Hurt Locker. Not a bad film, but Inglourious was groundbreaking.

Movie is probably too high on this list in retrospect and shouldn't beat out many of the movies before it, but that would take a lot of editing I'm not willing to do. Even so, this movie is so funny. One of those movies you can pop in when having a bad day and know it'll make those couple hours go better.

Another entry from the View-Askiewniverse. This is one of Kevin Smith's best. Really great flick.

48. Hoosiers (1989)

This is the best basketball movie ever made, and I like a bunch of basketball flicks. Just a story you can get behind, with magnificent performances by the cast.

47. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
(Will Smith, Jaden Smith)
http://www.vibrant-life.ca/pursuit-of-happyness1.jpg
"It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I agree that how he overcomes all those odds might have been interesting.. but didn't you find it a bit glamourized & unreal at some point.. I have seen some pretty serious movies based on real life about people struggling... but this one was too damn flashy.
& it sold out well because of the cute kid...

Anyway, I have the same argument with my girl. She absolutely loves this film.. & she loves the kid.. She even tried talking me into watching Karate Kid.. But I wouldn't budge.

Karate Kid, if you're referring to the new one with Jayden Smith, is a great movie. I don't mean good, I mean great. Seriously. It's way better than the original and in my opinion is better than The Pursuit of Happyness. BTW, that +rep for genesis pig was from me.

I got news for you, PN, The Karate Kid is better than In Praise of Love. Take this from someone who is obsessed with Godard and has seen most of his major films. Here's the opening of a review of the film by Roger Ebert, a strong early supporter of Godard and his works:

What strange confusion besets Jean-Luc Godard? He stumbles through the wreckage of this film like a baffled Lear, seeking to exercise power that is no longer his. "In Praise of Love (http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/classifieds?category=REVIEWS01&TITLESearch=In%20Praise%20of%20Love&ToDate=20101231)" plays like an attempt to reconstruct an ideal film that might once have existed in his mind, but is there no more.

This is exactly right in my opinion. Godard's career in the last two decades has fallen astray so much that I don't even consider him a major director from that era in France, as I do Claude Chabrol or Agnes Varda.

Sorry. These are just opinions though.

Sarcasm is okay when it's every once in a while. Also, there's no need to be downright insensitive. Sure, the internet is full of forums where people act like @ssholes to each other. It's also a place where people use curse words incessantly and put up porn. That doesn't mean it should be here.

I watched this again the other night and it still brings the laughs. I know I'll probably get flack for having it on my list, let alone this high, but this is exactly the kind of movie I love.

(Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz)
http://bookreview.historyguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Inglourious_Basterds_poster.jpg

I think you have some pretty decent movies in here J. Some are great, some I will never watch. Im a big fan of Tarantino. He has written and directed some of my favorite movies. But Im not one that has blinders on when it comes to certain directors or actors. That being said, this film was a huge disappointment. Huge. Ive read the review thread for this movie and all seem to say that it is mediocre. I just wonder if some would have even given it a mediocre rating if it were not directed by Tarantino. They all mention how its characters are underdeveloped, the plot is weak, etc. And the only thing mentioned as a positive is that it was funny at times. One reviewer described it as if it were written by teenagers who had just learned of the Jew-Nazi past and thought it would be cool to make a movie about a group of Nazi killers. Yes, Yes, Yes.....such a great way to summarize this film. Also, a lot of people seemed to think Pitt gave a great performance in this movie. I totally disagree. All I could think about when watching it was how he was given such a great role and just blew it. An above average or great actor could have knocked that role out of the park and possibly redeemed this mediocre film.

Ive noticed this movie pop up on a few lists and when I noticed it here I decided to toss in a small rant. The fact of the matter is that Tarantino has lost it. It has been hard to watch happen over the years. As Ive said in previous posts, he needs to get back to his forte--writing. Until he can somehow rediscover his past formula for casting and directing, he needs to leave these aspects to someone else.

"I don't need to talk about her or look at pictures... 'cause the truth is, a lot of times, I see her... on the street. I walk down the street, I see her in someone else's face... clearer than any of the pictures you carry with you."
http://cinemassoto.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/reign-over-me.jpg

Man, this is an emotional movie with awesome performances from Sandler and Cheadle. This is Sandlers best film.

21. Black Hawk Down (2001)
(Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor)
http://i.clevver.com/fullphoto/4436/500/950/black-hawk-down-movie-poster-1.jpg

When I'm looking to watch a war movie, this is one that I usually reach for. Awesome action and what a cast.

This is, by far, your most even list, save for the sole exception of Death to Smoochy, which I remember you mentioned you liked before. All decent films otherwise.

In an attempt to finish this at some point before college starts back up, I'm gonna do another 5 tonight:

20. Catch Me If You Can (2002)
(Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks)
http://www.dramastyle.com/images/3/1/Catch_Me_If_You_Can_3992_poster.jpg
"Dear Dad, you always told me that an honest man has nothing to fear, so I'm trying my best not to be afraid."
http://partnerofapilot.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/catch-me-if-you-can-pilot-leonardo.jpg

The other Spielberg film on the list. Really great stuff here.

19. Cinderella Man (2005)
(Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger)
http://reneezellweger-tribute.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/cinderella_man_poster.jpg
"I have to believe that when things are bad I can change them."
http://images.picturesdepot.com/photo/c/cinderella_man_scene-25249.jpg

Russell Crowe is just superb, isn't he? Couple him with a great sports tale and it's a movie I'm bound to like.

18. Thank You For Smoking (2005)
(Aaron Eckhart, Maria Bello)
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb93/mother_sprite/thank-you-for-smoking-poster-1.jpg
"We don't sell Tic Tacs, we sell cigarettes. And they're cool, available, and *addictive*. The job is almost done for us."
http://www.maximummovies.net/wp-content/uploads/2006/04/Thank-You-For-Smoking.jpg

Really funny movie. So well done.

17. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy (2004)
(Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate)
http://images.easyart.com/i/prints/rw/lg/3/3/Maxi-Posters-Anchorman--Cast--331875.jpg
"Panda Watch. The mood is tense; I have been on some serious, serious reports but nothing quite like this. I uh... Ching... King is inside right now. I tried to get an interview with him, but they said no, you can't do that he's a live bear, he will literally rip your face off."
http://blogs.venturacountystar.com/dennert/anchorman-1.jpg

One of the funniest, most quotable movies ever made. Sucks it sounds like the sequel/musical version they were planning to do seems to be off. I'll keep crossing my fingers.

16. Resevoir Dogs (1992)
(Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth)
http://images.picturesdepot.com/photo/r/reservoir_dogs_poster-7573.jpg
"I don't wanna kill anybody. But if I gotta get out that door, and you're standing in my way, one way or the other, you're gettin' outta my way."
http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/03_01/DogsL0403_468x336.jpg

I love this movie. Tarantino at his best.

15. The Wrestler (2008)
(Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei)
http://0.tqn.com/d/movies/1/0/E/U/S/thewrestlerposter.jpg
"When you live hard and you play hard and burn the candle at both ends... in this life, you can lose everything you love, everything that loves you. Alot of people told me that I'd never wrestle again, they said "he's washed up", "he's finished" , "he's a loser", "he's all through". You know what? The only ones gonna tell me when I'm through doing my thing, is you people here. You people here... you people here. You're my family."
http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Entertainment/images-2/mickey-rourke-the-wrestler-2.jpg

Okay, I have to admit it...I'm a lifelong wrestling fan. I don't watch it very often anymore and have kind of grown out of it as an adult, but I followed independent wrestling like it was depicted in this movie. It's pretty realistic here and this movie was so well done. It blew my mind.

14. The Hangover (2009)
(Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms)
http://static.reelmovienews.com/images/gallery/the-hangover-poster.png
"I always wondered why they were called roofies, 'cause you're more likely to end up on the floor than the roof. They should call 'em floories."
http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2009/12/17/movies/1217hangover/blogSpan.jpg

I saw this movie on opening night and it was so funny I went the next day to see it again because I couldn't make out every joke through all of the laughter in the theater. It's ridiculously great and still hysterical every viewing. Can't wait for the sequel.

13. American History X (1998)
(Edward Norton, Edward Furlong)
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6RI4txBI7CQ/SwguN5hy2OI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/zqQhhDl-gxM/s1600/American-History-X-Poster-C10077092.jpeg
"I'm lucky. I feel lucky because it's wrong, Danny. It's wrong and it was eating me up, it was going to kill me. And I kept asking myself all the time, how did I buy into this ****? It was because I was pissed off, and nothing I ever did ever took that feeling away."
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/5VgOy087KNs/0.jpg

What a powerful movie. Edward Norton is one amazing actor.

12. Rudy (1994)
(Sean Astin, Jon Favreau)
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s253/wicki_bucket/RudyPoster.jpg
"You're 5 foot nothin', 100 and nothin', and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football players in the land for 2 years. And you're gonna walk outta here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this life, you don't have to prove nothin' to nobody but yourself. And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done that by now, it ain't gonna never happen. Now go on back."
http://entertainment.wagerweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/rudy.jpg

I don't like Notre Dame. At all...but I can't help but get behind this movie. This is as powerful an underdog story as I've seen. Love this flick.

11. Bubba Ho-Tep (2002)
(Bruce Campbell, Ossie Davis)
http://cavalcadeofschlock.com/wp-content/gallery/posters/bubba-ho-tep-poster.jpg
"That's it? I mean, we're investigating a scuttling in the hall, trying to figure out who attacked you last night, and you bring me here to look at stick pictures on the **** house wall, man?"
http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/images/bubbaho-tep.jpg

Got this one as a joke to watch with my friends senior year of HS. Went to Blockbuster and we were going to pick out the most ridiculous looking titles we could find and watch them. We were looking for movies that looked terrible. We got three and two of them really sucked. Can't even remember what they were. This was the third one we watched. We all loved it and own it today. Hilarious, awesome movie.

I don't know what you mean by "downhill". These are generally okay with some really good ones like AHX and The Wrestler. I can't believe you weren't bored or off-put by Rudy though. That was probably the most senseless, least inspiring sports film I have ever seen. Maybe that's what makes it realistic.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I guess it's time to crack into my top 10 favorite movies...

10. High Fidelity (2000)
(John Cusack, Iben Hjejle)
http://thisdistractedglobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/high-fidelity-2000-poster.jpg
"Now, the making of a good compilation tape is a very subtle art. Many do's and don'ts. First of all you're using someone else's poetry to express how you feel. This is a delicate thing."
http://thepilver.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/high_fidelity.jpg

I love this movie. I love the dialogue. I love the use of music. I love the cast. Cusack is great in this and Jack Black is tremendous too in a support role.

9. The Big Lebowski (1998)
(Jeff Bridges, John Goodman)
http://withextrapulp.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/lebowski.jpg
"That rug really tied the room together."
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d8/The.Big.Lebowski.1998.Screenshot.2.jpg

Brilliant movie. Whenever I see Bridges in anything, no matter the movie, I think of The Dude. One of the greatest characters in film.

8. Gran Torino (2008)
(Clint Eastwood, Christopher Carley)
http://bullshish.com/connor/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/gran-torino-poster-1.jpg
"I'll blow a hole in your face then go inside and sleep like a baby."

After seeing this movie I realized I need to see much much more Clint Eastwood. I haven't got around to that quite yet but what I have seen, I have liked alot. This movie especially was really powerful. Dug it a ton, obviously.

7. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)
(Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly)
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WkKZJVG5wTk/STTarQWETYI/AAAAAAABmFw/uEyjWbRFpYs/s400/talladega_nights_poster2.jpg
"Well let me just quote the late-great Colonel Sanders, who said...'I'm too drunk to taste this chicken."
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6jiuFhifXfA/SErqxsONo6I/AAAAAAAACHA/pPi5-vICIbw/s320/Talladega%2BNights%2BCal%2Band%2BRicky%2BBobby%2Bat%2Bdinner.jpg

Whenever I am feeling down, this is the movie I turn to. It's a guarantee I'll laugh and feel better. It's probably the most watched movie in my collection just based on that alone. Hilarious movie.

6. Shaun Of The Dead (2004)
(Simon Pegg, Nick Frost)
http://www.bigtalkproductions.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Shaun-of-the-Dead-Poster.jpg
"Who died and made you ****ing king of the zombies?"
http://shadoka.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/shaun-of-the-dead.jpg?w=450&h=292

Hysterically funny movie. Zombieland was great, but still this one reigns supreme as king of the zombie comedy.

And my final 5 favorite movies:

5. Knocked Up (2007)
(Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl)
http://thecia.com.au/reviews/k/images/knocked-up-poster-0.jpg
"Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of Everybody Loves Raymond, only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."
http://www.hamaraphotos.com/hollywood/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/seth-rogen-katherine-heigl-paul-rudd-leslie-mann-in-knocked-up.jpg

First saw this movie at an advanced screening I won tickets to. After it was done I realized I needed to see it again because it was hilarious. Had to wait a couple months, but now I've seen it several times and it's still funny and heartwarming every viewing.

4. Die Hard (1988)
(Bruce Willis, Alan Rickman)
http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq87/murderhahaha/movies%20for%20september/die-hard-poster.jpg
"Nine million terrorists in the world and I gotta kill one with feet smaller than my sister."
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.cinematical.com/media/2010/07/cine-die-hard-remake-game.jpg

The best action movie of all-time. Great lines, awesome killing, a hero you can really get behind. Love this movie.

3. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
(Jason Segel, Mila Kunis)
http://www.themovieblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/forgetting-sarah-marshall-poster-2.jpg
"He turned down a blow job from his ex-girlfriend... mid-blowjob. You know how hard that is for a man? It's called blue balls. He's like Gandhi! But better - he likes puppets!"
http://www.releaselog.net/uploads/c3b51f7cf7105f33eaf42f5bb4a8b8dd.jpg

This movie is funny, charming, crude, silly, and every other thing I like about movies rolled into one. I just love it.

2. (500) Days Of Summer (2009)
(Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel)
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/smoothsoulprivacy/500-days-poster-1.jpg
"I don't know how to tell you this, but... there's a Chinese family in our bathroom."
http://flicksided.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/500.jpg

I really related to this movie...probably more than I should have. I can't think of another movie that moved me as much while watching as this one did. I was attached to the Gordon-Levitt character and felt for him. Plus, I also have an enormous crush on Zooey Deschanel...

1. Remember The Titans (2000)
(Denzel Washington, Will Patton)
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/__cpdGQIjrC0/SRUtnw00gpI/AAAAAAAACSw/GyoQDLIJhD4/s400/poster-remember-the-titans.jpg
"This is where they fought the battle of Gettysburg. Fifty thousand men died right here on this field, fighting the same fight that we are still fighting among ourselves today. This green field right here, painted red, bubblin' with the blood of young boys. Smoke and hot lead pouring right through their bodies. Listen to their souls, men. I killed my brother with malice in my heart. Hatred destroyed my family. You listen, and you take a lesson from the dead. If we don't come together right now on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed, just like they were. I don't care if you like each other of not, but you will respect each other. And maybe... I don't know, maybe we'll learn to play this game like men."
http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/238/629/remember_the_titans_display_image.jpg?1274977773

I don't think there is a movie I've watched more than this one in my life. Every time I see it on I just get sucked in and have to watch it. It's inspiring. I debated long and hard about this list and the order but when it all came down to it I had to ask myself is there another movie I'd seen before that I'd rather watch at any moment than this one...and I couldn't think of one.
