That's not surprising, GP. The 90's were a better decade for Hollywood, IMO.

The 80's were even more of a challenge for me because I missed all of the 80's and I don't mean in a drug induced missed sort of way. There are some great films from the 80's though that have made my list.

I also liked when Colee was in the bar and was limping and the girl gave her lip and she layed her out. Definitely Rachel McAdams was my favorite mostly because I love Rachel McAdams, but Tim Robbins was his usually wonderful self and Michael Cena was also Brilliant.

rauldc14

I liked the church part too. I just love the movie because it has 3 brilliant actors Robbins, McAdams, and Pena in a low-budget movie that just seems to work out for me. It's a fun movie to watch and the progression of the characters is interesting to follow.

#10: The Breakfast Club 5/5 stars~ My favorite of the brat packers film. There are so many funny lines and the interaction of the 5 main characters are fantastic.

#9: With Honors 5/5 stars~ One of the best performances I have ever seen in a movie that is not well known. Joe Pesci puts together a fantastic performance. The co-starring cast is also brilliant.

#8: The Princess Bride 5/5 stars~ A true classic of true love.

#7: August Rush 5/5 stars~ Freddie Highmore is brilliant in this movie where he must find his parents through his love of music. Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers & Robin Williams are also very good in this film.

#6: Girl, Interrupted 5/5 stars~ Fantastic performance by Oscar winner Angelina Joile and also a great performance by Winona Ryder.

#5: American Beauty 5/5 stars~ Brilliant cast with a huge performance by Kevin Spacey. Also an ending that makes ya jump out of your seat and also cry.

#4: Dead Poets Society 5/5 stars~ Robin Williams at his best and it really isnt in a comedic role. Also the ending is also very memorable.

#3: The Outsiders 5/5 stars~ A brilliant cast before they all became stars and one of the best stories that a film was made into.

#2: The Notebook 5/5 stars~ The onscreen chemistry of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams was brilliant. Also James Garner and Gena Rowlands were fantastic. One of the saddest endings of a movie in my opinion.

#1: Juno 5/5 stars~ This movie has it all for me . A character in Juno(Page) that is funny, sweet, and just free spirited. Then there is her boyfriend Paulie Bleeker(Cera) who is a little goofy but will do anything for Juno. This is totally the guy I am looking for. So I love this movie because I want to live this movie other than having a baby and all. The soundtrack is also awesome.

Just recently saw two films that will be inserted into my top 100.

Remember, Me starring Robert Pattinson 4/5 stars: A romantic film that brings Pattinson away from his Twilight role in great fashion. He connects with this role and the chemistry between Pattision and co-star Emilie de Ravin is incredible.

Eclipse starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner 4/5 stars: Definitely the most intense of all the movies so far and the one that kept my interest the best. Also stopped at a good time for the next installment of Breaking Dawn next year.

The other thing is that if you watch more of the lists and ALL the movies in the polls, your life willl be enriched cinematically. :cool:I can rate the movies whatever rating I want. If I wanted to rate my entire top 100 movies 5 stars out of 5 or a perfect scoring than I would. I certainly would not rate a movie in my top 100 lower than a 3 star out of 5 stars because if it is in my top 100 than I must have enjoyed the movie somewhat.

Concerning the movies from the polls I will try to watch them and I also enjoy reading the reviews and remarks from the other mofoers here because they do have way more experience with older films than myself. That is why I enjoy this site more than any other reason.

#30: Ferris Bueller's Day Off 4/5 stars~ Matthew Broderick puts on in my opinion his best performance ever in this very upbeat and funny comedy.

#29: Pretty In Pink 4/5 stars~ Another of the brat packers films that hit my top 100. Ringwald, McCarthy and especially Jon Cryer put on a great performance in this teen film.

#28: Pay It Forward 4/5 stars~ One of the saddest endings of a movie that I have ever seen. Spacey, Hunt, and Osment do a great job in this film.

#27: There's Something About Mary 4/5 stars~ One of the most hilarious films with some of the most memorable scenes like the hair gel and the stuck zipper.

#26: Doc Hollywood 4/5 stars~ Michael J. Fox is great in this film as is his wacky towers casts in Woody Harrelson, Bridget Fonda, and David Ogden Stiers.

#25: St. Elmo's Fire 4/5 stars~ Big brat packer movie related to the college years. Had some romantic and also funny moments. Also shows that friends can stick together through a lot.

#24: Little Miss Sunshine 4/5 stars~ Abigail Breslin is fantastic as is the rest of the cast in this hysterical comedy.

#23: RV 4/5 stars~ This movie is hilarious. Robin Williams at his best.

#22: Reality Bites 4/5 stars~ Great movie that brings two people together. Also has a great soundtrack.

#21: Crazy/Beautiful 4/5 stars~ My favorite movie with Kirsten Dunst. She plays a great dysfunctional young lady who meets up with a young hispanic man who they fall in love.

I think a lot of people here have to remember that there are a lot of young members here too. I'm 22 and its only been a year since I've been truly watching movies from the lists because they are considered great. There's plenty of time to catch up, Juno. I do agree that your top 100 list would change dramatically as well, because mine has since I've seen a lot of movies on those lists.

Juno MacGuff
07-25-10, 08:46 PM
The 4 movies from 2010 that I am inserting into my top 100 go like this:

#71: Remember, Me starring Robert Pattinson 4/5 stars: I really enjoyed seeing Pattinson in another role other than Twilight as he did a wonderful job.

#49: Eclipse starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner 4/5 stars: The 3rd installment of the Twilight series was the best of all. A lot of action and the acting is getting better each fiklm.

#53: The Runaways starring Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning 4/5 stars: both these young actresses did a brilliant job portraying Joan Jett and Cherrie Currie.

#17: Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio & Ellen Page 4/5 stars:Brilliant filming and acting by all involved in this film.

** So since I added 4 movies to my top 100 that means 4 have to go. Those movies are: The Object Of My Affection, Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion, As Good As It Gets, and Boys On The Side. **

"Never read any book that is not a year old." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

You shouldn't include Eclipse just for the reason that it came out so recently. You haven't even seen it twice yet probably (I don't know, maybe cuz it's Twilight). You haven't let it sink in. You haven't compared it against other films maybe not in the Twilight series... Same thing with Inception. It's been out 2 weeks. I've seen it twice already and the 2nd time definitely suffered. However, my 2nd viewing of TDK in theaters was nearly as awesome as the first time, hence the better film.

Juno MacGuff
07-25-10, 09:18 PM
I have seen Eclipse not once, not twice, but three times and each time I find something new to enjoy. Like I said this film had the most action of the three released wich made it much more exciting for me.

As for Inception I have only seen it once and plan on seeing it a second time soon as it was a lot to take in. As you probably noticed I am a big Ellen Page fan so seeing her in a role like the one see has in Inception and really nailing it makes me excited for her upcoming career.

Concerning the Dark Knight this was a film I did not enjoy very much at all with the exception of Heath Ledger as the Joker. His character was so anticipated it kinda took the focus off the other parts of the movie and to him. I have also seem TDK two times and I cannot agree with you it still did nothing for me.

The books are pretty bad but then Robert Pattinson irritates me as Edward (Edward and Jacob make a lovely couple, I think). I'm glad they got rid of the paedophilic...I mean 'imprinting' relationship between Quil and Claire. Unfortunate that their names together sound a lot like Clare Quilty...the rival paedophile in Lolita.
