New York's weather is absolutely crazy. Two days ago, it was about 60 degrees out - the next day, it was snowing early in the morning.

Aah, a thread about the weather. The lamest of all smalltalk conversation subjects. ;)
The weather here is very changing. Today it's been sunny, rainy and windy. Oh and that stuff where it rains tiny ice balls, which I don't remember the word for in English. :)

Yeah, but it got you to reply, so it's obviously not THAT lame. :D
Well I was kinda hoping you could inform me what the tiny ice ball rain was called in English. ;)
And I don't think the thread is lame. Just that the weather is a lame topic of conversation. In real life, when people talk about the weather, it's often because they can't think of anything else to talk about - thus leaving the counterpart depressed and disappointed that the friendship isn't what it used to be... Or you know, something like that.
In here people actually talk about it voluntarily. It's a wonder.

The answer to your question is Hail. I know you weren't referring to the thread as being lame. I knew exactly what you meant, I was just giving you a hard time.
If you start searching this forum, you'll notice a lot of pointless conversations the people jump in on and they transform into something totally different.

This has to be a sick joke by the anti-cupid. At about 5pm, I'm going to drive 75 miles to be with my girl, luckily I'm bringing my pajamas, bringing "Harry and Tonto", a ton of music, but I kinda help break our date a few weeks ago by saying I didn't wanna drive in the dark, which I can't stand, especially when there's a lot of miles where there are no lights. I hate driving period, especially now with so many people staring at their phones while driving. I also have to avoid the drunk drivers out. I'm just excited to see her, and going to make the time pass as quickly as possible.
Just looked out my window again, it's looking sooooo awful.

It's 0 degrees celcius here, so on freezing point. It's snowing for the first time this winter and there's A LOT. So much that it weights down on our trees in the backyard and makes branches break off. Kind of scary, hopefully the whole tree won't fall.:p

Beautiful. I love summer. Hot in the day, not too hot though; and cooling breezes come by in the evening - like being caressed by the angels. At night the fireflies do a slow waltz; in the day, those bullfrogs in the pond could summon a herd of cows.
And if the air feels great, can't wait to get into the water. Just float away the hours in a luxurious lake of calm.
No overcoats , no layers, just stay outside all day in a light cotton short set . Long long days . Barbecues and day trips up the river and setting outside with some friends and folks to watch the days drift by . Outdoor music festivals! Butterflies and birds. And a thousand shades of green.
Did I mention that I love summer? :)

According to the weather folk, armageddon. Impending tropical storm - maybe hurricane? Signs on the freeways say 'Buy Water, Fill your gas tanks, storm in the Gulf".
Yesterday it was raining cats and dogs all day long. And today it's sunny and hot but a bit muggy. This year the weather is uncharacteristic for my location.

I just got an Emergency alert on my cell phone for a "Winter Squall Warning"!
But I'm remembering - it had to be 2 or 3 weeks ago - I went for my walk and was remarking how I was already uncomfortable from the "heat"!
It wasn't actually hot or even warm, but it had that stale air & stagnant feel that made the ambient humidity feel uncomfortable for breathing and exercising.
Well, it sure wasn't stale & stagnant for last night's walk - rather, it was "crisp" and freezing - and uncomfortably chilling to the bone whenever the wind blew - which was most of the time.

Yeah, I forgot it rains in April.
It was so weird here, yesterday, that the office closed around 1 to get everyone home before it hit. I, unfortunately (fortunately?) had to get through two deadlines so I had to ride it out. It only lasted about half an hour then it was gone. Nothing too bad, actually. We did have a few small tornadoes or just strong gusts of wind in the county, knocking branches loose or popping through privacy fences, but nothing out of the ordinary really. So I just skipped lunch for the day and left about an hour earlier than I normally would have to take in a movie! I caught a 3:30 showing of Morbius. Ugh. I'm not even going to italicize that.

Went for my evening walk - wore my ear cover but thought it was too late in the season for gloves.
I wish I'd brought them! Walked with my hands in my pockets a lot of the way.
Then it started raining half way through my walk - drizzle at first, but got heavier and wind picked up as rain got louder!
Got wet & cold, but didn't get soaked.

Today was specially magnificent, I woke up around nine, it was so good I decided to go for a walk in the fields, and for the first time I decided to share my walk, did a live-streaming on r/whereintheworld (https://www.reddit.com/r/whereintheworld/), half an hour later I looked at the screen and 30,000 people were watching. It's funny, I don't like company, but I did share it with the internet. Too bad I deleted it or I'd share it in here since it's a more closed community, I thought no one was going to watch it, I don't like sharing locations and things like those on the internet, today's people are crazy. Now it's starting to decay, not a single shadow anywhere, I don't ear the birds.

Horrible CT weather at the weekend. SO windy & cold. Really horrible.
How the 6 teeny tiny goslings I am watching survived 25 mph winds this weekend is beyond me. I know their parents know how to keep them warm, but still. They’re so tiny the wind could blow them away. I worry for them, but they were fine today.
It is positively gorgeous today, and should be for the next several days.
We "earned" this because the weekend was mucky and rainy.

Last week (in NJ) they said the heatwave will abate by the weekend as thunderstorms roll in...
Plenty of rumbles, but no storms until we got a 1 minute downpour on Sunday afternoon, after which heatwave increased.
Then they said it would abate by Monday - hotter today than before.
Now the prediction is tomorrow will break records for heat so far this year (and will MAYBE begin to cool Wednesday into Thursday)!

We can water the garden but only with watering cans for example, not the hosepipe. Or if you use your hosepipe to wash your car, you now have to fill a bucket and do it the old fashioned way.
It's more to stop over use of water, filling up big paddling pools or keeping on water sprinklers for the grass.

I'd be mostly okay with 90 F outside during the day, but what's really getting on me is the fact that due to lack of proper air conditioning it gets 85+ F inside my apartment. Anyways, it seems that our autumn heatwave is more or less over.

The air conditioner helps a lot but it can only do so much. We've had the thermostat set to 74° at work, but yesterday it couldn't get it cooler than 78°. It's 76° in the office now, even though it's still set to 74°. But it would easily get into the 90s inside if it weren't for the AC so I do have to give it credit. It's 106° outside at the moment. I'm jealous. California is definitely not cooling off just yet. Expected to hit 109° today. It's barely past noon and it's already 97°. Fortunately, there doesn't appear to be anymore triple digit temps in the forecast for next week, but still low-mid 90s/high 80s.
I won't be putting my shorts away for quite awhile yet, probably not until sometime in November. I wear them until it gets downright cold.

My observations of "climate change" in recent years - the transitions of seasons seem so drastic & sudden. It seems like we go from ice on the roads to being able to fry an egg on them in a matter of weeks, and vice versa. I keep saying we don't have spring or fall anymore, only the dog days of summer and icy chill of winter.
