Beautiful Columbus Day holiday in NJ right now = 67 degrees, low humidity, clear skies!
Cool in the shade, but warm in the sun - not uncomfortable either way. But we are at jacket temps in the evenings now.
82F, currently. blue skies and a light breeze. Nights have dropped to the low 50s for the last week or so. MEOW MEOW MEOW.

73 degrees in Connecticut. Perfect weather, which isn’t gonna last.
70 F this morning. The rain has finally come in and has been mostly light rains in the early AM with patchy clouds during the day. Last night, around 6:30PM, a massive rain storm crawled over town. The local roadway construction zones were horrible in that there are no reflectors out to mark the lanes and what paint is down was only temporary until the work is complete. Rough drive in the wet dark.
Today looks like blue skies, but we've got a 66% chance of rain coming later.

The weather was lovely an hour ago when I was out walking. It was a very even temperature neither warm or cold and plenty of cloud cover/no brightness . I wouldn't of minded a touch warmer but can't complain. Its turned a bit nippy now though that might be because I've come home and sat still..

The kind I don't like, really windy with rain. Don't mind rain, don't mind a bit of windy weather but both makes it hard to operate an umbrella.
Don't think there is a decent wind proof foldable umbrella anywhere...

The last time I used an umbrella I got soaked from head to toe. Of course it was in the middle of a hurricane and rain was wiping at me sideways. Still I just walk real fast to my destination in the rain without the encumbrance of an umbrella now.
As far as the weather report goes; it is a lovely sunny day here in Delco, PA.

Connecticut got its first snow yesterday. It was a lot - maybe 4 inches, which is all melting as we speak. But yesterday evening was tough trying to get the snow off our front steps (terrified of falling down them) & feeding our outdoor cats. Ugh, I hate it so much.
First thing I did today was buy my own personal snow shovel. This way I know where the darn thing is at all times.

It's been about 30-35 degrees here the past few days, but I've learned to bundle up better to keep warm. Yesterday I was wearing two very heavy sweaters, (one with a hood), and a leather jacket, with thermals, Thinsulate gloves, and my face mask. I was bundled up so much that it barely felt like winter.

I thought I was so smart NOT having to go out shopping this close to the big day... and then yesterday I found out that my stepdaughter and her hubby will be here tomorrow (!!). Nobody told me till yesterday, and there's no food for guests in this house. So guess who has to go out in that biting wind, that temp that dropped more than 40 degrees since yesterday, and that icy snowiness on some of the roads?

I have survived a four-minute dog walk (supposed to be longer but aborted due to some of the most insane and unpleasantly cold winds I've ever experienced for more than a few seconds at a time), after which, emboldened, I ventured to the grocery store. We're all stocked up now.

I'm back from the grocery store run. I chose the little grocery store here in town, which is a half mile away on flat roads, no hills. Roads are a MESS but at least I didn't slip or slide on that short trip. The parking lot was PACKED. But I was on a mission, and I knew what I wanted and nabbed it. Was in and out of the store in a half hour, including checkout time. Even went past the post office to dump a few stray cards in the outside slot. (Yoda, one of the cards was yours!)
I'm glad to be back inside without needing to go anywhere for the next few days till it warms up again. :)

We had something similar during a cold winter a few years ago, when the power went out on our street due to an accident down the block that knocked it out, but at least Con Ed put a temporary generator on our block that gave us power until they could get it fixed. Blizzardy, sleety, rainy, icy concoction of wintry Michigan fun...
Looks like northern Connecticut’s first snow in February is coming down the pike. CT flips out at the mention of snow, but looks like it will only be an inch. Nothing like what you guys have.
Because Fedex rules and UPS are 'brown shirts' *I'm not a fan of UPS, monkeys!
Hardly ever get a UPS delivery now, but, when I did, the driver was very nice.

Every 2 months I get a Chewy delivery that arrives in a HUGE heavy box. I always leave a note for the FedEx guy to leave the box at the FOOT of our front steps & I unpack it from there. Today I was amazed that he left the box directly outside my front door. This guy (who is very sweet) is not a big guy. How he got it up the steps is beyond me, but it surely made my life easier. I gotta find out his name so I can personally thank him.
It sounds like your FedEx delivery guy is much better than ours. We had a bookcase delivered recently. The kind that comes in pieces, and you have to put it together. The box was very big and very heavy. (Over 5 feet high and over 90 lbs. according to the information on the FedEx site.) The FedEx driver leaned it against the wall, right on our doorbell camera. He leaned it so hard that he broke the camera. )
Noticed something this week: how come FedEx guys don’t have a uniform, but UPS does?
The FedEx guys here wear a purple and orange uniform.

Shoot me now because we have a Winter Storm Watch for Connecticut & Massachusetts. In CT we’ve had no snow at all, but, starting Saturday evening through Sunday, we will have a lot of snow. Will be super-disappointed if I can’t get to church on Sunday, but I may need to stay home & dig out my cats!
Husband waiting for a knee replacement & can’t walk so no help there this year. Snow removal man hasn’t returned my call yet so stressing out.
So tomorrow I will be cleaning, doing laundry, feeding at least 6 cats 3 x daily & using my snow shovel.
Oh, did I mention the bird stuck in the chimney this morning? I opened one place & it managed to fly into the basement, which was a miracle in itself, but I didn’t see it fly out of the basement doors. No clue if it’s gone or what it’s doing, but will freak out if it appears in the a.m. because I don’t like anything that flies around in the house.

Noteworthy mostly just because in the 2+ years we've listed at our current house the road crews have been amazing and this is, I think, the first time I've started to drive to work and decided not to because it didn't feel entirely safe going down the big hill nearby.

Yesterday was brutal in Connecticut. It wasn’t the amount of snow - we’ve had much more snow in prior years, but the ice was frickin terrifying. I called my “snow” man in tears because I couldn’t get down our front steps. He came over right away & next time he comes he will bring me a bag of sand. Flooded here, yesterday morning. 7", based on this one local report. Though this doesn't even begin to show the actual damage around the county, it is at least a good introduction to our local accent and slang. The ditch in front of my house is deeper than I am tall. The water had backed up so much that it was overflowing from this ditch onto the county road, covering it with a good 2" sheet of water for about 10' or more. Several county roads were closed due to flooding over. All dirt roads were inaccessible, at least for most of the day.

After hitting 70 a bunch of times in the past week here in Pittsburgh, we'll be lucky to hit 40 today. Oh, and we woke up to snow-covered cars and grass (but it didn't stick to sidewalks and roads, so there's that, at least). So much for March going in like a lion and out like a lamb.
Winter's way of just reminding us that IT IS STILL WINTER TODAY. :D
