Alright, I'll see if there's a relatively easy way to implement that with the current code.Much appreciated.
Okay, so this is the 10-minute janky version:
Go to any movie page and add ?userseen=ID to the end, where "ID" is the userid for that person. So, mine is 1, and if you add it to the end of the page for The Deer Hunter it'll just give you a plain text message saying whether I've seen it or not:
https://www.movieforums.com/movies/11778-the-deer-hunter.html?userseen=1
I can see about making this a little easier/nicer in a few ways, obviously, but I'm not sure if this is a super-short term thing that might not be used much going forward where a simple, non-pretty version still alleviates the work for you guys a lot.
Well, good news: because of the quarantine I've finally managed to sit down and start working on custom lists (IE: letting anyone make their own lists for display and for others to check off). I've already got the very rough skeleton working. Still a lot to do, especially to make it look nice (and to revamp the Lists area correspondingly), but it's a good start. :)
So just a question; Are "Yoda's Overlooked Movies" and "Gloria Grahame" supposed to be up now? I click on them but it just takes me back to the lists page.

Surely Yoda's too small to overlook movies anyway :D
Now Chewie ..... there's someone that could overlook movies....
.... anywho, when am I gonna be able to put up my Top 25 Movies That Start And End With Punctuation list?

That's part of Custom Lists, something I'm working on now. However, I'd thought I'd managed to "hide" those while they're being worked on. Where are you seeing them?

The drop-down menu ("Other Lists").
Hmmm, there are two instances of those. I guess I got rid of that in one place rather than two. Thanks. I'll figure out which it is (the one on "your" list is different than the one on someone else's).
More on this soon. :)

I have one that says Classics That Lived Up to the Hype on my page.
Yeah, fiddling around. Stay tuned. ;)
Attention! Lists are changing!
As some of you already know, we've been beta testing a new Custom Lists feature (more here (https://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=61548)). This is going to supplant a lot of what you think of as the Lists area. For example, it's probably going to be the thing you see by your posts (instead of your list percentages) and on your profile (same).
There'll be some experimenting, and we'll see what people prefer and why and go from there. But initially, don't freak out if/when you see the change.

Yoda just to let you know the Sight and Sound list seems to be slightly broken, at least on mine it now shows 98% and says there's a film missing, a blank gap where it should be when I view list 👍
Good catch, looks like it happened when I fixed a dupe with Children of Paradise (happens a lot when we have the English translation and the original in the system seperately), guess I didn't update the linking table. Should be good now.

I know Noir is one we have planned for a countdown, and musicals were tossed around as well but i think women directors needs a serious overhaul.
I’m sure we can find better films then Slumber Party Massacre and Tank Girl these days.

Two years? I guess it would be too early to redo it.
The refresh list is available to be updated!

This area is still changing very soon, and will be more tightly integrated with custom lists and stuff, but you can safely check this off, all the existing ones will stay, and the "official" lists (be they AFI or our own or whatever) will have some kind of special placement or designation, too.

I had to check it off twice, rather than one check syncing with all the other lists.
Got it, thanks, I'll merge them.

The Movie Forums: Top 100 Refresh-list either doesn't show up when I click on the list button right above my profile picture (when I post something) - even though I put it at first place in the list section - or it shows 0% next to it. Probably a minor bug?

Whoops, looks like I had the wrong IDs hardcoded in there. Try it now, please.

Movie Forums: Top 100 Comedies (https://www.movieforums.com/lists/movie_forums_top_100_comedies.html)
Public Service Announcement: very soon (today? Tomorrow?) the little lists dropdown next to your username on all posts will start displaying your Custom Lists (any lists you've created and made public), as opposed to the percentages you've checked off of the legacy lists. The icon won't be there if you don't have any.
Still thinking about how/where/whether to display the list checked off data. Stay tuned on that.
Expounding on the above: Custom Lists have been in kinda-sorta beta long enough, time to start integrating them properly and all that.

Any word on being able to rearrange our list of custom lists in a different order?
Any word on being able to rearrange our list of custom lists in a different order?
There should be a "List Order" option that allows you to do that on this page:
https://www.movieforums.com/addlist.php
Might need to fiddle with the code to make sure it updates the cached list display on the other end, though, but let me know if that at least works on the page itself (refresh likely necessary).

The former, no, but there is one via the latter: Lists -> New Custom List. Think it's in the breadcrumb from there.
It'll be linked in more places eventually when it's not in beta, but in beta I kinda want it to be a tiny bit of a chore to find until it's ready for prime time. When it's ready it'll all be front and center and impossible to miss, of course.
