Well, 2014 may be a few months away, but I've got scoop on upcoming movie releases. Seeing the other thread on 2015 Summer Blockbusters got me thinking about the next few years of films...
Here's a rundown of what I think will be the Top 20 films of the next 2 years and a Top 10 on where I reckon they'll place.
2014
Captain America: Winter Soldier
300: Rise Of An Empire
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Godzilla
X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Transformers 4
The Fast And The Furious 7
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
Ninja Turtles
The Expendables 3
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Resident Evil 6
Paranormal Activity Cousin Project
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
Paranormal Activity 5
Poltergeist
Interstellar
Despicable Me: Minions
The Hobbit: There And Back Again
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
My 2014 Top 10 Prediction:
10. Godzilla or Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
9. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
8. Interstellar
7. Ninja Turtles
6. Despicable Me: Minions
5. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
4. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
3. X-Men: Days Of Future Past
I can see the Top 2 breaking the Billion mark in their cinematic runs.
2. The Hobbit: There And Back Again
1. Captain America: Winter Soldier
2015
Jurassic Park IV
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Star Wars 7
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Terminator 5
Bond 24
Mission Impossible 5
Warcraft movie
Prometheus 2
Fantastic Four
Ted 2
Assassins Creed
Independence Day 2
Superman Vs Batman
Batman Reboot With Affleck
Snow White And The Huntsman
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2
The Penguins Of Madagascar
Antman
Kung Fu Panda 3
My 2015 Top 10 Prediction:
10. Fantastic Four
9. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
8. Mission: Impossible 5
7. Terminator 5
6. Prometheus 2
5. Independence Day 2
The top 4 I can see breaking the Billion+ mark, possibly the 2 Billion+ mark during their cinematic runs.
4. The Avengers: Age Of Ultron
3. Bond 24
2. Superman Vs Batman (alongside the possible rebooted Affleck Batman film)
1. Star Wars Episode VII
At the moment, I'd say 2015 is looking like the stronger year in terms of entertainment factor.
Just a shame that the strongest earners are all going to be remakes and sequels over the next 2 years.
