Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I appreciate it.

Got the endoscopy again tomorrow, fingers crossed it goes ok. The odds of anything going wrong are miniscule but as these procedures mount up the more those odds may catch up on me! I'm going to be sedated this time. I wasn't last time I got the endoscopy but I found it so extremely unpleasant that I want them to knock me loopy this time around. And then we'll just see if they find anything of note.

I forgot to say that there has been one benefit of sorts to all this. The first time I went to the gastro specialist I was weighed. Then when I went back a month or so ago they weighed me again and it turns out I've lost more than a stone in the intervening 14 - 15 months.

Haven't started on this type of cinema yet! Does anyone recommend a nice one to start?

Well I made it through another procedure unharmed! Wasn't particularly pleasant though. Because I was sedated this time they put this ball gag like thing in your mouth, with a hole in it to put the tube down. That was rather uncomfortable. Although while I was lying there waiting for the sedation I was thinking to myself, "Sexy will probably find this detail entertaining!" When I came home I just konked out immediately and slept for the next few hours. When I woke up I felt pretty rough; tired, tender throat, headache etc.

This time out they did find some things of interest. My esophagus is very inflamed and there are signs of thickening of the esophageal wall. They've taken some biopsies to see if they show up anything. Should get results of that in 4-6 weeks.

Still not feeling too great but just thought I'd pop by

If your esophagus is inflamed then that means its infected. They could put you on the most powerful antibiotics, and eliminate that in 2 weeks. You would have to go in every day for the procedure, done thru iv drip. I would have to think this could be a positive discovery.

Stay strong man were pulling for you

Pull through JayDee!

And gratitude to edarsenal!
