You mean the third one is in talks. I have seen the second one but in Japanese, it hasnt been subtitled yet.
Take it from me. Don't watch Battle Royale II with ANY expectations. Fukasaku's son totally f***ed it up.

To Samsonite: Talk to Her was a Spanish film from the master himself, Almodovar.

Battle Royale 2 is awful and it has been subtitiled, you can get it on DVD on most regions now.

Have you seen Audition? If not, it's my favourite by Takashi Miike and is amazing. See it... now.
I made the mistake of buying it(here in Oz) and it is without a doubt the worst quality dvd i have ever bought (there is only one version of the movie on dvd here in Australia and is sold by a very unreliable no-name distributer, you're warned people) . I even developed an elaborate scheme so that i could return it and get somethign else for my money's worth,... it was that bad. That is why i am hoping the version of Ichi The Killer we get is half decent.

Twilight Samurai is very very good, well recommended. Also if you like that one, try When the Last Sword is Drawn which is on a similar theme, but told in flashback sequences which is really effective.

Man Bites Dog, sick film- Belgium

Switchblade Romance, insane slasher- France

Bird People in China, Takashi Miike's best film- Japan

Dead Man's Shoes, British OldBoy

Chungking Express, pretty film- China

OldBoy, awesome film- Korea

Amores Perros- excellent multi-strand narrative- Mexico

Once Upon a Time in the West- Leone's Western epic- Italy

Das Boot- Classic WW2 film/miniseries from Germany

Don't see Battle Royale 2 though, it's horrible

I saw the swedish film Om jag vänder mig om (english titile: Daybreak) today. And I really recommend it, not just because it's swedish.

They had temporarily escaped the factories, the warehouses, the slaughterhouses, the car washes - they'd be back in captivity the next day but
now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

I got for good luck my black tooth.
I have seen barely any foreign films at this point so I will just rank the ones I have seen.

1. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
2. The Man of The Year
3. The Lengend of Suram Fortress
4. The Motorcycle Diaries
5. Brother

Yes. The soundtrack is of course also a classic. I would guess that more people have actually heard the soundtrack than people having seen the film.

Yeah, a fantastic thriller. I love it.

La Haine – France (Fantastic Uraban Movie)
I love this one as well and it made a great first impression on me. Great characters. And note the scene in Boogie Nights set at the drugdealer's place. Any similarities?

I preffered A Tale of Two Sisters to The Eye. As good as The Eye is, it just felt like Sixth Sense mixed with Ringu

EDIT: I just noticed more than one person mentioned this, oh well.

Duno if its been said, but Battle Royale I & Battle Royale II -Japan

Its about a bunch of school kids who are put on an island, each given a different weapon, and told to kill each other until one survives. If no one kills each other, they all blow up and die.
