Top Ten Gangster Movies

Tools

Deadite beat me to it, lovely to see The Funeral in this topic.
Yeah, I own it. It's a very atypical gangster movie, I think. More of a character study, and the ending is... well, it's unpleasant.

I also own Gangster No. 1, a neat little gangster movie with a rather brilliantly intense performance by Paul Bettany, well worth seeing.

Well, if you want to go there, I'm surprised you don't have White Heat listed.

Chappie doesn't like the real world
White Heat is really good, but I only have room for ten. There are a few I had to leave out. Actually, I really wanted to include Casino.

Why limit yourself just because someone decided on an arbitrary number? If you've seen many, many movies, you know it's impossible to limit and rank.
Honestly, I could come up with at least 50 great crime flicks relatively quickly but in the interest of time I just quoted 21 that first came to mind.

It's more the challenge of it than the simple following of the rules. Sure, I could've easily included the ones I considered putting on the list, but I like considering the value of different films (to me) and coming up with my own personal top ten. It's too easy otherwise.

Snatch is easily the weakest film on my list, but I couldn't part with it because I love the characters and it's so much fun. So yeah, when I limit myself it requires me to put more thought into it than simply listing movies. I'm sure it's like that for a lot of people and the reasoning behind the asking of the arbitrary number.

Yeah, I understand but when you've seen over 10,000 movies, thinking becomes a headache.
