80s-90s

In the Middle Ages or so, a maid/wet nurse explains a young girl about the first night. She says that, according tradition, the newly wed must light a candle and wait 'til it consumes itself, then the fun begins. The girl is happy and, I think off screen, she marries.

Then in another scene she is alone in the bed, the candle is already lighted, and she waits for her new husband to come. He takes a long while, and when he finally arrives, he just heads to the candle and simply put it out. The girl panics, jumps out of bed and invokes the heavens asking for mercy, she explains that the guy didn't know about the ritual, and therefore they shouldn't be punished. But then she takes a look at the guy, and she doesn't recognize him. He explains with nonchalance the he is her husband, that his cousin or brother married her on his behalf, and therefore this other guy was just a front man.

She is sad, and I don't remember the rest.
