While this film overall lacks the sexual overtones of the original two films, Visnjic always brings a kind of animal presence to his roles that somewhat adds that dimension in a more subtle way.

So I kind of knew what I was getting into with this film, because I'm not sure I've ever read a review from someone who loved it.

On the positive side, I liked the way that the film leans into the despair that the character feels.

The opening sequence suggests a sexual motive for the violence, but I thought that the multiple sequences thorough the film totally lacked and sexual charge.

What makes this film so good is the way that it shows the dual horror of the refugee experience: both the uncertainty of where you will ultimately land, and the horrors and traumas you have carried with you.

The kills themselves are pretty good, albeit a bit choppy in the way that they are filmed.

I also liked the way that the film kept drawing Mija back to the humanity of the dead young woman.

It's one of the only times that the film does seem to be spinning its wheels a bit.

The real hero of the film is Steven (Thomas Dekker), who starts the film as a huge fan of Deborah's, but soon begins to grow suspicious.

Okay, maybe not quite enough to say that this was a consistently good movie, but enough that I was kept entertained.
