i've semi-avoided this movie for years not because i thought i wouldn't like it, but because i knew i'd have a hard time separating it from its reputation as the ultimate bro intellectual movie with the most obnoxious fans (also i knew the ending already).

i still give this movie credit because it was clearly an interesting take for its time and i believe in appreciating films within their historical context.

It never made me interested in it beyond when we initially meet the characters, whereas Short Cuts keeps making subtle character changes, and takes the characters and stories to new places.

Right after seeing this movie, he quickly became one of my favorite film characters of all time.

Gosford Park   7/27/13

The majority of the film is spent showing the master-servant relationship, and it became a bit dull at times.

The Road   7/09/13

I guess I just found it interesting or something, but I can't even think of a time throughout the film that I felt especially interested, and none of it really felt new or original after watching The Walking Dead.

Man of Steel   6/25/13

It was pretty overused in the first scene, but the last hour put that scene to shame.
