In an underground bunker, a collection of scientists led by a woman named Sarah (Lori Cardille) and a scientist named Logan (Richard Liberty) search for a solution to a zombie plague that has taken over the world.

The Zombie effects and makeup are top notch and seem to have been made the standard for pretty much every Zombie film since.

The make-up for the zombies are the best (for the original three films anyway) and Day of the Dead has the best on screen death scene out of any of Romero's films.
