Ash also gets possessed twice in the movie, although both times he's inexplicably cured by sunlight and his memories of a necklace, and this principle isn't echoed any other time in the movie, so super deus ex machina bullshit.

As a result this is more like an Army of Darkness prequel than an Evil Dead sequel.

While the original Evil Dead film is a classic horror movie, I honestly think that this sequel might be better than the original.

As with just about every one of my all-time favourites, I've lost count of how many times I've watched Evil Dead II - for some reason, I'm thinking at least fifteen.

A reimaging of the first Evil Dead rather than a true sequel, this is a fan favorite for any true fan boy.

My main problem with this movie is how these constant long silences interrupt the whole movie - it might actually be entertaining having a gigantic battle with these super-natural events - with a consistent pace , but I guess we'll never know.

Sam Raimi does an excellent job of keeping us scared in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, with the dead surrounding us.
