According to Lance Henriksen, he suggested to James Cameron to have Hudson's hand put on top of his, to which Cameron agreed as Henriksen felt the scene needed something extra.

Lance Henriksen as Bishop adds a nice Disney touch that's probably enough even though the Newt character does add some incentive to really kick the alien's ass.

Not so much in terminator movies and abyss but in this movie there is this "evil corporation" undertone all over the movie.

This is James Cameron in his prime working in his element in a fantastic sci-fi action film that is a great sequel that stand the test of time as well as stands up to the tremendous quality of the original film.

The movie's just full of memorable dialog and as is typical of Cameron by this point it's paced excellently so even though it takes quite a while before we see our first alien, it's a solid slow burn in which we learn to orient ourselves with the characters and the atmosphere.

A few characters in Aliens mirror those of the first film: Bishop the android for Ash, Hicks for Dallas, and Newt the young girl they discover crawling around the air-ducts of LV-426 represents the daughter that Ripley lost during her many years in hyper sleep.

It has a bunch of Marines all geared up and psyched to kill aliens and most of them end up getting killed by the aliens, but unlike the first film, the death scenes aren't really all that traumatic to the characters.
