Again though, all the deliberating left very little time to make the film, many more new characters that were going to be part of the film were either rewritten into existing characters or deleted from the film and put into the screenplay for X-Men Origins: Wolverine instead.

The film introduces dozens of new characters such as Archangel (Ben Foster), who actually has something to do with the primary plot but ultimately disappears and reappears whenever the script requires them to.

Ultimately, Ratner was the wrong man for the job. While the action was superb and the special effects off the wall, it all doesn't make up for the butchering of the story they've done.
