His attitude of enjoying life and what is in front of him is a great counterbalance to the angst that Puss is feeling that causes him to disregard the feelings of others.

This film though, man, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, completely changed what I thought about the Shrek franchises future and, more so, Puss in Boots future as a character.

Puss in Boots dies at the beginning of the film, but don't worry he's a cat with 9 lives.
