The fact that it's a prequel starring a pair of nigh-invulnerable immortals and several other characters who definitely survive to be in the franchise's original installments sucks a lot of tension out of the whole film and it's not like the remaining characters are interesting enough to care about ...

All in all, Hood did a commendable job taking on an X-Men character after Brett Ratner butchered the series with X-3. If you're one of those individuals who hasn't seen the leaked version, take it for what it is as a superhero film. After all, it's worthy of at least a matinee ticket to see.

The best recommendation I can give for casual fans of comics, or the [I]X-Men[/I] universe, is to expect a typical summer flick thatís relies on tightly shot and packed action. And for you diehard fansÖexpect to be disappointed.
