It is the growth of Tony Stark throughout later films and the charm of RDJ's performance that makes Tony Stark, in my opinion, the best of the Marvel Cinematic characters and a great character to kick off the franchise with.

Based on Stan Lee-created characters, the screenplay is overly detailed and spends too much time on exposition and if you're going to have this much exposition, it should not leave anything unexplained, in particular, the soldiers holding Tony prisoner have cameras in the cave where he's being held ...

Another reason I think Iron Man is more superior to the other superhero movies is the origin of Iron Man.

The fact that Iron Man is nowhere near as dark, serious or 'adult' as The Dark Knight (which was released in the same summer) means that people might not appreciate or expect just how 'good' a film Iron Man actually is.

I Saw Iron Man 2 and if yu go back a few pages you can check my review on that film, but now i have finally come round to seeing the first one.

There is nothing outstanding on offer, it was somewhat of a gamble to cast Robert Downey Jnr, but he doesn't let the side down, and indeed provides one of the more wry comedic performances of recent years.

A very well acted super-hero movie makes up for the sometimes very poor visuals - but once you add the amazing CGI action scenes on top of this : you get a very entertaining movie.

Filled with humorous dialogue, great casting and high flying special effects, Iron Man is one of the best comic book adaptations ever put to film.
