The film actually starts fairly decently (almost masterpiece like quality compared to what it descends in to) as Heston drives through a deserted Los Angeles, and does battle with the ghouls that stalk and haunt him.

Even with everything that does work with the film, there is too much wrong to call it a great or even a good movie. What it does do is entertain, and with that strong point, it can be a very, very fun movie to watch.
