Like he did in his other Lovecraft adaptations, Gordon respects the source material without alienating Lovecraft amateurs and makes a movie that is a blast to watch.

Gordon once again tries adapting Lovecraft with Dagon, which leans further into Lovecraft's established "Cthulhu Mythos" with its emphasis on the horrors of unfathomably cruel gods and the freaks who worship them.

Lovecraft's first published short story and later extended with elements of his last published story, so the entire film is essentially an amalgam of Lovecraft's career span, which isn't to say that "Dagon" is a work of genius or heavyweight film, but certainly doesn't have to try as hard with paddi...

Dagon, helmed by Stuart Gordon, is taken from HPLs The Shadow Over Innsmouth and Dagon, and itd be difficult to find another adaption with a more faithfully ominous atmosphere.

The film has it's fair share of problems, one too many chase scenes for my liking, but the film is well made and has the Gordon stamp on it.
