The film doesn't seem to take a strong position one way or the other on this question, but it is interesting to watch Julie struggle with the way that others are comfortable using and/or manipulating her husband's work and life to their own ends.

But instead, the visuals just make you constantly analyse Julie's state of mind, her unwillingness to adapt to a new life and her ultimate battle to stay afloat.
