World War Z 6/09/14

The way they get from act two into the third act is contrived though, even though the third act is a wonderfully playful series of hide-behind-your-cushion scenes.

I've actually hesitated between Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds as my second favorite Tarantino film for a long time, but ultimately I think the latter is Tarantino's best recently made film.

The classic plot of a lone vigilante who arrives to clean the city corrupted by criminals is polished to near perfection in this film.
The Exorcist 6/08/14

Even though this was my first true viewing of the movie, I've seen so many scenes before--- the "pea-soup" scene, the "360-degree-head-turn" scene, "the power-of-Christ-compels-you" scene, as well as numerous other iconic scenes from the movie--- that it hampered my enjoyment of the movie.

Because the audience at Ebertfest doesn't choose the films and often knows nothing about them, some of the members must have been uneasy to discover they were watching a Japanese film about undertaking.
Greed 6/06/14
by Captain Spaulding
Not only has Greed surpassed Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans as the best film I've seen from the silent era, it can proudly stand alongside the greatest films of all-time.
Critters 4 6/05/14
by The Rodent
After the third film's improvement over the second film, this one for some reason decided to go for full on comedy mixed with bad humour, cliche plotlines, gimmicky ideas and terrible acting.
Critters 2 6/05/14
by The Rodent
It tries to be bigger than the first film in the action stakes and expands the overall event to the entire town, rather than the 'trapped in house' horror that the first film made so well.
