Platoon (Directed By: Oliver Stone)

''Shut up! Shut up and take the pain! Take the pain!''

Well Platoon is another first watch for me, i havn't seen many of Oliver Stones movies, i have seen Any Given Sunday, World Trade Center and Wall Street 2 and thats about it but Platoon i must say is the best of what ive seen. The Movie has quite a simple plot, its about a group of young soldiers as they patrol the jungles of vietnam in 1967, they battle everything from, bugs, war, there emotions and feelings, exaustion, to even battling with each other and its a very powerful movie.

Well i'll start by saying this movie would of made my top 50 without a doubt. With such a simple plot this movie has so much going on, there was never a time were i was feeling bored or restless it grabs your attention and takes you along. The cast i think is what makes this movie and there was 3 strong performances that stuck out for me, first is Charlie Sheen, second Willem Defoe and then John C. McGinley, also known as Dr Cox. These Three actors i thought where fantastic especially Charlie Sheen in by far his best role yet... i say yet like its gonna change haha. We see Sheen taking drugs, getting emotional, going abit crazy by the end of the movie i was thinking have i just watched a war movie or a movie about Charlie Sheens personal life.

Platoon has some really powerful scenes throughout the movie that at times left me looking away from the screen, its a very strong story and could be the best war film i have seen. If you have never seen this movie like me you should really check it out.
