What it's about: In a tragic accident a man John Russell (George C. Scott) loses his wife and daughter. Over wrought by grief and trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life he moves across country to Seattle and rents an old mansion, with the intention of focusing on his music writing career. He soon finds he's not alone, there seems to be a spirit of a small child in the house. This is where the mystery begins as he begins to uncover the facts of what happened in the house years ago.

Review:
This was an enjoyable film to watch. It's not meant to be scary, it's not that kind of film, it's more of a gothic sorrowful mystery. I really liked George C Scott in this, he's one of a kind. Controlled focused intensity is the best phrase I have to describe him.

The Changeling, is not a jump scare, horror film, it's more eerie, more thought provoking. Also cool to see Melvyn Douglas, an actor who once was a big star in the 1930-1940s and once worked with Great Garbo. Here he's much older but still able to act up a storm.

What was really cool was seeing actual scenes shot in Seattle that I recognized. The old mansion they used was impressive too. The film looks great
