Short Circuit 2

After the NOVA Robotics project went wrong in the original Short Circuit we now follow the life of Ben Jahveri who is now building toy robots based on the original Number (Johnny) 5 and selling them on the streets. Meeting with Fred Ritter they come to a odd couples partnership to build one thousand robots but trouble is shortly to find them.

I loved Short Circuit, it really is up there for me alongside Batteries Not Included, Bugsy Mallone and Flight of the Navigator in terms of films I loved growing up and if I see them on TV I will stop what I am doing and watch them. I came across this purely by accident on Netflix last night and loved every second of it, I had forgotten the premise of the the story and it is a fun story, nothing fantastic but fun. It didn't bring back the Newton Crosby or Stephanie Spec from the original film but to be honest that didn't matter, Fisher Stevens & Michael McKean worked well together so it didn't really bother me and the film didn't like, it just went in a different direction.

Despite being able to access this on Netflix I think this will be something I buy on DVD.

My rating: 8/10
