The surprise ending where Sandy is dressed in greaser-like clothes made me smile even though it kinda contradicts the overall message of the movie to go your own way instead of trying to fit in.
The musical has been "cleaned up" for the big screen (the Broadway show was WAY raunchier) with energetic direction by Randal Kleiser and imaginative staging of the musical numbers by the stage show's choreographer Patricia Birch.
