I mean as scary as any doll-chase movie with a final fight sequence at the end.
Cady's terrible therapist warns Gemma that Cady needs someone to attach to after the loss of her parents, and Gemma is allowing M3GAN to take that place.
You could say that the makers of M3gan the doll might not know exactly what she is but the makers of M3gan the movie sure does.
