Jackie Brown is a lengthy, lush crime-drama with the usual, uncut spoken leeway of the main characters, who talk about nothing of importance, while also telling us something important along the way as well a little something known as the Tarantino transcription tactic, which he later perfected in Inglourious Basterds and perhaps to some minds overdid.

There is another brilliant thing that I caught which may or may not be intentional is that in the movie there is a scene involving Robert Forster which would be the first scene in the whole movie where his character is actually getting his hands dirty in criminal life that could potentially kill him.

Then there is Michael Keaton who plays the cop from another film (But seeing as the film was based off a novel, the author had the same character from another novel which was also made into a film).
