Pi or Cube?

i've been getting into low budget psychological movies lately. i havent seen Pi or Cube and both look pretty interesting. if you can give a short description on which you like better and which you suggest i see first, that would be great. thanks

You can't go wrong with either one really.

Cube is about 6 strangers who wake up in a seemingly endless maze of deadly cubes. Each person seems to have some sort of special talent, that, if utilizied might allow them to escape.

Pi is a little more on the strange side, IMHO, but a solid movie nonetheless. It's about a math genius suffering for dibilitating migranes while trying to harness the chaos of the stock market. Given his chose field of study there are obviously some very interested parties.

Haven't seen Cube but it looks like the kind of movie that would make a great poster for some nerd, in my humble opinion. Actually, I'm gonna' rent the crap outta' this movie next rental.

Pi, meh, kind of over done in some parts of the story while interesting in others. Like Mose said, about a math genius that is being chased by religious and financial people. Maybe The Davinci Code [it's a book]. 1.685 or something like that. Golden ratio? I don't know.

Cube is one of my favourite low budget movies ever

I absolutely hated Pi, it was too... religious. Haven't seen Cube, though.

I saw Cube because someone told me it was a really good film, I found it really boring though and I didn't like it at all. And im into those types of movies as well but to me it was a dissapointment

Man, Pi's religious in the best sense of the word. The questioning, finding-the-curving-line-between-infinite-truth-and-finite-sense sense .

Haven't seen Cube tho (But i'd be surprised if it's as good )

I've seen cube, it's not for the squemish, but it's a good film and you should see it. Avoid the sequel tho.

A system of cells interlinked
Pi is a great film. As for being too religious, it isn't.

I guess Lance was talking about the torah/kabbalah theme. (Silly of him to get hung up on just that bit really. Heigh ho. [DAMMIT NEBBIT! WHEN WILL YOU FIND A SHRUGGING SMILIE! THERE IS A NEED! LOOK HOW TENSE I GET WHEN I CAN'T SHRUG!]).

I really recommend you rent Pi. You will either love it and buy the DVD, watch it 10 times, or you'll hate it like Lance. There is no middle ground IMO, so it's a good gamble.

The Green Lantern
Cube.

I haven't actually seen either, but from what I have heard from friends, I want to see Pi first

Pi is probably a better film (i'm yet to see it) seeing as Aronofsky directed Requiem for a Dream, which i'm pretty sure is good (another i'm yet to see).
I have enjoyed Cube, but only really appreciated it after seeing the sequel. Probably an age thing, but yes, do see it.

Review: Cabin in the Woods 8/10

I am a glorified ape.
I liked both films. Pi is much more high-brow than Cube. I'm probably only saying this because Pi confused me more than Cube did. Both are open-ended films...meaning that it's left up to the viewer to decide what happened to our heroes.

As for Pi being religious... the movie comments on religion, but it doesn't say there IS a god (like the Passion of the Christ assumes). Pi just questions whether there is a god or not.

Cube is a little less artsy...a little more fartsy... the acting is not very good but not intolerable either. The idea is cool and watching people get chopped up is great. I liked the special effects.

So I'd say if you're in a mood for a fun movie that makes you think a little bit...watch Cube.
If you're in a mood for a movie that might make you think alot (if you can get your head around it) then watch Pi. (But if you haven't seen Aronofsky's sophomore effort, Requiem for a Dream, I'd say skip Pi, and watch that because it carries a MUCH more profound impact on the viewer.)

In Soviet America, you sue MPAA!
I'll be in the extreme minority here, but I enjoyed Cube 2: Hybercube a helluva lot more than I did Cube or Pi....

Cube 2 made me appreciate Cube as it pretty much rehashed the plot, i would agree with you excpet i didnt like the ending. I felt it was better unknown what or where the Cube was.
