Recording artist Nelly will debut his acting skill on the big screen as a running back in the remake of Burt Reynolds' 1974 movie, "The Longest Yard," which is scheduled for a May 2005 release. The picture about a prison football game that pits the guards against the convicts will also star Reynolds, Adam Sandler and comedian Chris Rock, according to Entertainment Tonight.

hmmmm whos rippin who off? guy richie made a movie called mean machine which also had the inmates squaring off against the prison guards in a footbal (soccer) match. i dunno, weird

That's weird. Casting Burt Reynolds is a good idea, but Adam Sandler and Chris Rock? They're not going to be playing convicts, right? The original boasted all-pros like Jim Kelly, Jerry Rice, and the like. Hopefully, they'll cast some current NFL all-stars in that scene.
