I was just wondering what everybody's opinion was on Godzilla--the one with Matthew Broderick. Is it universally hated? I actually liked the movie, but I see a lot of posts saying things like "please don't let it be like Godzilla" or "as long as it's not like Godzilla..." Am I the only one that found it at least mildy enjoyable?

I thought Godzilla was fun… cheesy but fun... My favorites are still the old black and white ones though…

My favourite has to be King Kong vs Godzilla, so cheesy you've gotta love it! "My c-corns...." I did however like the American Godzilla as a fun little action movie, and I am a Mathew Broderick fan so it was pretty easy for me to get into it.
If you want to find out who the true King of Monsters is, play "Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee" and pit the original vs the American version. Woohoo!

Yeah obviously it wasn't gonna win any academy awards or anything, but I thought it was a fun summer flick. Sometimes it's fun to just sit back and forget how stupid something is and just enjoy it. By the way has anyone seen the old Gamara (I think that's how you spell it) movies? Gamara was a gigantic turtle I believe. I saw it years ago but haven't been able to find it since.
I liked the Matthew Broderick version, for the fun and sheer enjoyment. Though the old Godzillas in Japan were the best whether b&w nor color.
I have no real favorite...I like them all.

The latest one was bad, really bad, but nothing to cry about.

I have very good memories of the grand original movies. My favorite was always:
Godzilla vs. Biollante
I haven't seen any of them in a LONG time though. Not since I really got into film...therefore I couldn't really say whether any of them are good. I will watch some soon though!
