Recommend me a character study movie

If you're into music at all, I heartily recommend Still Bill, a documentary about singer-songwriter Bill Withers, one of the most humble men you'll ever meet.

Inside Llewyn Davis is one that I saw fairly recently and isn't too bad.
Five Easy Pieces also has several admirers although I'm not crazy about it, Jack Nicholson does a good job in it though.
That's all I can think of right now but I know I've seen more.

The Wrestler (2008)
Into The Wild (2007)
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Drive (2011)
Locke (2011)
Ed Wood (1994)
Magnolia (1999)

Bunch of favorites of mine

IDK. Is Doubt a character study ?
I thought of that one too but I'm also not sure how to classify it. Anyway, it's good so I'd recommend it.

Big second to The Wrestler...exceptional character study.

2012, The Last Supper.

I have to return some videotapes...
My favorite character study is American Psycho (2000), but the one I always hear is There Will Be Blood (2007). Basically any of PTA's films are character studies. Also Kaufman is all about character studies.
