The age old question of pitting Clones against each other...
Gremlins and Ghoulies both released in 1984, Critters came along in 1986 and Munchies in 1987...

Unable to find the art for the first Ghoulies film, so using the 3rd film...
4 different treatments (though with Munchies being pretty similar to Gremlins), but based on mini-creatures chomping their way through hapless victims.
Gremlins, a dark comedy and slapstick in nature at times but filled with some memorable scenes and actors who went on to bigger things. No explanation for the creatures though, apart from mysticism.
Ghoulies, demons are the port of call for this one with the occult being the explanation for the creatures.
No big names in this one, but it did spawn a bunch of more comedy oriented sequels with better known names attached.
Critters, with Aliens being the explanation and filled with dark humour, slapstick and horror.
Big names in this one, and some unknowns at the time who went on to bigger things.
Munchies, Nadine Van Der Velde from Critters makes a show alongside some bigger names again... comedy horror with a low budget and a script similar to Gremlins with the creatures's's behaviour and both a fossil and space being the explanation.
