What do you all think about Daniel Day-Lewis' performance? Will the Academy award it? Does it deserve the award?

I think hands down he should get best actor. In my mind thats one of the greatest performance in many many years...(overlooking a couple of course....Hannibal Lecter). If the Academy doesn't give him the award, it'll be very dissapointing, but also par for the course. The academy has a tendency to overlook good things.

Yeah, but if they give Day-Lewis the Oscar, you could complain and say that they overlooked Jack Nicholson in his outstanding performance. Or, you know, Nic Cage in his. Or wait! Adrien Brody was amazing too. And Michael Caine, too! His performance was amazing, also. It is a very close race for Best Actor this year and all five of the nominees delivered amazing performances worthy of the little golden man who stands on a film reel holding a sword...
