I've not seen much of your list, but I have seen these. I bolded the ones I enjoyed.

I'd recommend all of the French New Wave stuff on there it's quite eye opening, Also Nicholas Ray's stuff is very good and very important, as is Satyajit Ray's. You may not enjoy them, I don't know, I do so they're the ones I'd suggest.

Love seeing Blow-Up in your top 3. Fantastic film, one of my own favorites.

You have some excellent selections. Especially number 20 which happens to be my favorite movie. But you also have plenty of greats from Kubrick, Coppola, Hitchcock, and Kurosawa.

I admit when it comes to French cinema I am not that big on a lot of big names, but I like Jean Pierre Melville and Bresson quite a bit. Even though I still need to see more from them.

One of the best lists I have seen on this site. Judging by this thread and the other posts you've made already, you should fit right in to this site as there are lots of fans of all sorts of cinema just like you.

I love French New Wave too (look at my avatar ) even though I haven't seen that many films. The last film I watch was actually Bande á Part and I wrote about it here.

I'll go into more detail about your whole list later, but most of the choices are absolutely brilliant, lots of truly great films from all sorts of different eras and directors

Ah, well as I'm sure you can tell I am fascinated by the French New Wave, and thank you, I'm glad you like my list.
Forgot to mention that I also liked Truffaut. But yeah for me personally French New Wave is hit or miss. I have a bigger admiration for the Japanese Golden Age when it comes to foreign flicks. Especially the great Akira Kurosawa.

But yes your list was very good. Great selections.

Ah, fair enough, their films are also remarkable, especially the work of Shindo who though hasn't made it onto my list, is someone I truly admire.

Most of what I've seen from this list is great. So many I've yet to see also, and many of them have been on my watchlist for quite some time now.

That's amazing, I'm glad you like the list. I would definitely suggest watching some Nicholas Ray, he is truly fantastic.

Yeah, I think I would like him. I have Rebel Without a Cause, Johnny Guitar and Party Girl all recorded ready to watch I think. He's high on my list of directors to eventually get round to.

Yes, well those two films are magnificent. I do hope you enjoy them.

Those are two odd Rohmer films to pick out of the large bounty of his filmography. Why those two?
I feel that Triple Agent represents a great piece of French Film Noir, whilst Rendezvous In Paris shows off a beautifully orchestrated drama. The two films for me show off Rohmer's style, I feel they are also a good starting point for those looking to watch Rohmer's work.
