50. Primal Fear (1996)
Gregory Hoblit

''Hey you look at me when I'm talkin' to you, bitch!''

- God I Love this movie ! The acting is so great , the directing is awesome and the storyline is simple but incredibly effective. The courtroom scenes are really well made and The Plot/Twist ending is unpredictable and very well done in my opinion. Edward Norton completely steal the show.

More To Come !

Still haven't seen Primal Fear, but it looks good.

for starting a list!
it's excellent I definitely recommend it to you !

no problem it's always fun to have interaction with people I like that !

49. Zodiac (2007)
David Fincher

He claims he killed thirteen people, but which ones can we actually confirm? There's three in Vallejo, one in Berryessa, the cabbie, that's it.

- One of my favorite serial killer movie of all-time. This movie is very slow but so perfect in all aspects ... The casting is amazing (especially from Gyllenhaal and Downey Jr.) , the storyline is slow but very realistic and captivating and The directing From Fincher is very good like usual. The ending is mysterious but it's perfect in my opinion .... after all it's based on a true story..

Awesome Soundtrack:

I love Primal Fear and even had it on my 90's list.

I wasn't crazy about Zodiac the one time I saw it but always thought it was either because of my mood or attention span that night. It's one that I've been meaning to see again.

Loved Primal Fear...brilliant performance by Edward Norton and Richard Gere has rarely been better. Zodiac is overlong but is worth seeing, another great Robert Downey Jr. performance.

48. Let The Right One In (Morse) (2008)
Tomas Alfredson

''I'm 12. But I've been twelve for a long time''

-Another awesome flick that I really appreciate. Certainly one of the best vampire movie ever made... The relationship between Oskar and Eli during all the 115min of the movie is purely beautiful and the ending is one of the best i've seen in the 2000's. The acting of the two young swedish actors is very powerful and amazing. I also love the directing from Alfredson for a vampire movie it's really well done .

Soundtrack:

47. The Thing (1982)
John Carpenter

''I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation''

- One of the best and most influencial horror movie of all time by the master John Carpenter. A perfect combination of incredible make-up effects and sci-fi horror that I highly appreciate. The best performance by Kurt Russell in my opinion and incredible directing. The ending is awesome and for me it's one of the best horror movie of all-time.

Soundtrack:

2022 Mofo Fantasy Football Champ
The Thing is a top 10 favorite from the 80s for me. But unfortunately I don't like the 80s much as a whole. Its great though.

one of my favorite year for me ! so many great movie in the 80's

Great stuff so far Derek . In all honesty i'm not much a fan of Primal Fear, but you deserved a +1 for it because you've described your feelings of it so well in another langauge. Jesus i barely know English, this would be me attempting to speak to you in French (and i know some French). Also the worst episode of Friends ever .

Not seen Zodiac yet and the rest i loved or liked.

Derek, well said review on The Thing. I agree with all four of your points, especially about the ending. Had Hollywood done the 'usual ending', the film would have been weaker.

A good part of the suspense/terror was not knowing who is or isn't human......I love the scene where the scientist are tied to chairs as a blood test is done to reveal the alien....The way the actors react when the alien finally reveals itself, AND the humans are helpless tied to chairs right next to the beast!
