She was more famous for her stage work and was a real class act, but she did have some memorable film roles. She was James Dean's love interest in his breakthroueh East of Eden and played Sally Bowles in I Am a Camera, a non-musical about the Cabaret characters. Who can forget her as the sensitive psychic in The Haunting or the understanding counselor in Requiem For a Heavyweight? She made an impact in several other films. Farewell, sweet lady.
