THE WOLF OF WALLSTREET (2013)

TRAILER:

TRAILER #2:

RELEASE DATE: 25 December 2013 (USA)

Director: Martin Scorsese
Writers: Jordan Belfort (book), Terence Winter (screenplay)

CAST:

Leonardo DiCaprio
Matthew McConaughey
Jean Dujardin
Jon Favreau
Jonah Hill
Margot Robbie
etc.

This is one of my most anticipated films at the moment. Scorsese goes back to the world of crime and this time he explores the Wall Street underworld.
This will be his fifth collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio.

What do you expect from it? Did someone read the book where this is based on? Will this be more leaning to the style of Scorsese's 90s crime films, Goodfellas and Casino? Will Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an oscar? Will Scorsese win his second one?

Discuss! More information or pictures are always welcome of course.

-------------------------------

He did urban crime and grit with Catholic guilt in Mean Streets. He did urban crime and grit as a character study with Taxi Driver. He did organized crime with Goodfellas, Casino, and the Departed. He did urban crime and grit in the slums of early NYC with Gangs of New York. He has done street crime and organized crime, now for the white collar crime! Obviously I am a fan.

Can you tell I am excited?!?!?!?

Very hard not to be excited for a film from Scorsese with that cast. I was just telling someone today that most people look forward to summer for movies but I get pumped to see what is released in the fall.

AND WE HAVE A TRAILER!!!

I think it looks AWESOME! I like the fact that Scorsese is putting some comedy in it.

What do you think?

I honestly don't like the trailer. The entire movie comes off as a comedy. But I'm sure the movie will be good. I just hate trailers in general.

I like the fact that it's shown as a black comedy.
It probably won't be that comedy-heavy as the trailer shows. It's just some good marketing to attract more viewers to the screens (which is fine with me).

I still think the film looks very fresh and if the decadence is portrayed in Scorsese's typical style, this can possibly be his best film since Casino or even Goodfellas! That is for my tastes of course. I realise some people think The Departed or some of his other new films are better.

I watched the trailer for this today and I think its going to be amazing. It looks very funny and has a great cast!

I watched the trailer and I'm not too interested...anyway, didn't Oliver Stone already make this movie about 20 years ago?
God no. That's a totally different movie. It's not because they're both about Wall Street, that they're both the same movie.

I was being a bit cheeky, I know they are different movies but this looks very similar from the trailer, a young high flyer and he seems to be taught by McCounaghey's character. But hey this might work out.

Well, I think the two main characters will be totally different.

Jordan Belfort seems to be more like a crazy, overly decadent character that totally embraces every part of his fallacious wealth. Nothing like Bud Fox, I'd say.

Leonardo DiCaprio must have a fetish for playing powerful, rich white guys... The Great Gatsby, The Aviator, this... J. Edgar... DJANGO UNCHAINED... what am I missing?

He is definitely the go-to man for a powerful, rich white guy. He should play Hitler.

He was awesome in Django and it looks like he's going to be great in this also.

Your friendly neighborhood film critic
I'm pretty sure this won't be Scorsese's finest. Neither Leo, who, if he didn't win the Oscar for Inception or Shutter Island, won't win for this one. I'm a bit skeptical about the upcoming movie, but hopefully I will be proven wrong.

Sent from the Light Side using The Force

Ya this looks really awesome. I actually consider Hugo, Shutter Island andThe Departed to be amongst Scorsese's best films, so hopefully this keeps the streak going. Definently looking forward to this, and can see it being one of the best of the year.

By the time Leo's career is over, he will be considered the greatest actor of all time.

Scorsese is amazing, Di Caprio is amazing, this movie will be amazing.
I can't wait to coming out in Italy!
