R.I.P Stuart Freeborn

The man behind legendary Star Wars character creation Yoda has died at the age of 98.

London born Freeborn was also makeup artist on 2001: A Space Odyssey, Dr Strangelove and was makeup visual supervisor for the original Superman films.


Trivia... not being sure exactly what Lucas wanted for the look of Yoda, Freeborn created the look by basing it directly on himself. So whenever you watch Yoda in Star Wars, you are in fact watching Freeborn himself.
