Late 80s/early 90s Sci-Fi: Yak-like creatures close in on space craft in jungle?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a film with a science fiction feel that was shown on British TV in the late eighties or very early nineties. It might have been a feature, but I am pretty sure it was part of a series.
The film was in colour.

Memories are faint, but the scene I remember featured a space craft or some sort of smallish ship (like a shuttle from Star Trek perhaps) that had landed in a type of jungle. The jungle seemed mostly brown and devoid of green. There was a wild tangle of brown vines hanging from the trees, and the ground was covered in a thick layer of leaves.
Strange Yak-like creatures were coming out of the undergrowth and closing in on the craft. They walked on two legs and I think they were covered in brown fur. If I recall correctly, they had long white horns sticking out on each side of their heads.
There was a person inside the craft looking out via a video monitor, perhaps a window.

I also remember the TV guide advertising the film. The people with the landing craft were on some sort of mission to find a rare type of metal or mineral on the planet. The synopsis also stated that the mission was urgent.

Thank you for your help!

genyav and will.15,

thank you for your fast replies

genyav, your hint regarding Blakes 7 helped me find the scene I was looking for.
Following your pointers I scoured some B7 related sites and sure enough, someone had posted screenshots for all the episodes, which was a great help.
The scene in question was part of the episode titled 'Animals' from series four.
I was mistaken about the spaceship part though, the heroes were seeking shelter in a stationary lab.

Thanks again for your terrific help
