What Lies Beneath

" What Lies Beneath " begins as an intruiging mystery surrouding a ghost in a happily married couples house, but by the end it has fallen into the cliche ridden trap that many supernatural movies fall into, a brash , gorey ending that drags on and on unbearabley. I would suggest that you rent Psycho ( 1960) or " The Birds " instead of paying full price to see this. It isnt awful by any means, but just has an average feeling lingering over it. Ford and Pfeiffer are reasonably good, but the narrative gets very silly at times and doesnt do their acting abilities fullu justice. Overall, I'd give the movie 2 stars.

I've read that it's one of those movies that's 2 hours, but just doesn't have to be. Braveheart was over 2 hours long, but it had a lot to say, and needed to be. What Lies Beneath doesn't seem as if it needs to be.

I might go see it anyway - I really like Harrison Ford. He's a great actor, and has the best "concerned" look ever.
