February - A Song Tournament For Music Lovers

Tools

@crumbsroom

Off of Suuns, you might like the group, Autolux. I randomly caught a song of theirs a few years back from a Cartoon Network's, Adult Swim segment. The song was "Selectallcopy" from the album, Pussy's Dead. I could NOT turn away from the video:

If La Femme's sound got your attention then you MIGHT also like a few tracks from the 2014 B-movie, The Guest. "Anthonio - Berlin Breakdown" was a standout for me. Weird, goofy movie but it's ridiculously fun.

Thanks, I'll definitely check these out once I get a chance.

If you're in the midwestern or southern U.S., BAND-MAID is touring there in May. Hopefully, they'll add more dates. I managed to score tickets!
Kewl, enjoy - I'd never heard of them before but I liked all of their tracks that were nominated in previous tourneys .... hearing new stuff I like is one of the main reasons I enjoy these tourneys.

You have heard Oddessey and Oracle before though, because if not....
I have heard Time of the Season - I think you mentioned it as the cliché "it's the '60s" song in another thread, and I agree - but not the entire album. Will listen ASAP. The cover already has me excited.

It's a great song, that has been killed by bad films.

The rest of the album though is one of those 60's pop perfection kinda albums.

The closest show to me is more of a drive than I'd be willing to make, but I bet it's a fun show.
What size place are they playing in your area? Just curious.

It's a small, 1,500-2,000 capacity theater. It seem that's what the rest of the venues on their tour are like.

Nice. I don't own any albums or anything but a show like that might get me back in the concert game again. Haven't been to one since '19.

I know the feeling. I was lucky enough to go to three last year after 2+ years of not going. There weren't many seats left when I got my tickets, which is hopefully a good sign that they will add more dates.

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
Sadly no votes from mistique this round but time, as they say, is up....

1st - Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons - Can't Take My Eyes Off You (106 pts)

Congrats to gbgoodies on joining those already in the Final

Thank you.

Thank you.

As to GB's win, hell yeah. I love that song btw. Even going back to my youth, before I knew who Frankie Valli was. I tried to record myself singing it in my 20s. It was horrible. It really was. Anyhoozles, grats up there, GB.
And we get at least the remainder of this tournament without gbg being able to say that she never gets one to the Final .... so it's a win-win really (just kidding gbg - just having you in these is already a win)

The Frankie Valli nom, (and win), was just a bonus from the 2010s countdown. I rewatched the movie Jersey Boys (2014) for the countdown, and Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons music has been stuck in my head ever since then. "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is actually my second favorite of their songs. "My Eyes Adored You" is my favorite, but I thought some people might like the other song more.
