Just for fun I added up the placements for all of my ballot movies. The total is 8535

The lower that number is the more popular one's choices were. The higher that number is, the further away one's ballot choices were from the countdown.
I have 2,583 points.

My total is 3,425 (my top 10 did surprisingly better than I was expecting).

Weighting it (multiplying their placement by the number of points I gave the movie on the ballot, that way, my #23 coming in at #2 means a lot less than if my #1 had come in at #2), according to my phone's calculator, I got 37,740.

Here is my ballot:

1. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
2. A Separation (2011)
3. Burning (2018)
4. Whiplash (2014)
5. Boyhood (2014)
6. Room (2015)
7. Midsommar (2019)
8. The Favourite (2018)
9. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
10. Climax (2018)
11. Parasite (2019)
12. Black Swan (2010)
13. Mother! (2017)
14. Toy Story 3 (2010)
15. Something Useful (2017)
16. Get Out (2017)
17. Arrival (2016)
18. La La Land (2016)
19. Interstellar (2014)
20. The Lobster (2015)
21. Captain Fantastic (2016)
22. Lady Bird (2017)
23. The Revenant (2015)
24. Call Me by Your Name (2017)
25. Inception (2010)

I can say that I'm surprised a bit that Whiplash and La La Land placed that much high. But I really like them and I'm glad about this. My prediction for #1 was that it would be Max Max or Parasite but they placed one followed the other and I am happy for both of them. My #1 was Mad Max, actually I am not an action fan really, but I really think that this movie made action in the perfect way which is fast and recognizable enough! Anyway it was a good countdown, many thanks to Speling and I'm actually new in this forum and it was a really fun intro for me.

An unremarkable 6693 for me.

The placements total for my ballot added up to 72 but I reckon there's a chance that my math might have gone a bit t*ts-up somewhere along the way

edit: Think I may have found the error - looks like at some point I forgot to carry a 1 and it should be 172.

Finally caught up. Great lists, people! I have a bunch of recommendations I'm taking away from this.

Hey @Yoda any chance you can post the full list, including ranking, year, and votes, maybe in a google or excel doc? That could be fun to look through.

Cool to see some love for Jodorowsky's Dune (2013) I had considered that too when I made my initial long list.

Thursday Next's Avatar
I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
I watched John Wick yesterday. It was pretty good. Wouldn't have made my 25 but I do now want to watch the sequels.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
One of the few films made in the 2010s that is unlike anything that came before. (Maybe except for Godard's earlier films.) This is for the 2010s what the movies of David Lynch and Apichatpong Weerasethakul are for the 2000s. Also, it's good to see that starting from the 80s, Godard had been gradually abstaining from fighting capitalism and praising Maoism. Instead, he started to deconstruct film itself. His revolution literally turned to film.

Funny because earlier on I thought Mark had it on his list but then I realized that he had Green Book, not Green Room. The latter is a great modern take on Assault on Precinct 13. Nazi punks f*ck off!!!!!!11

Adam Curtis' films are well-made and fun to watch so I always rate them high but dude can be such a bigot at times. I don't mind his "but there's much more to this than meets the eye", but when he's employing leftist academia, weird, sometimes downright preposterous, and stupid view on things, it's hard to focus on the film. Take The Power of Nightmares. Accurate analysis of the US elite, but all the rest is gibberish. Populism preying on understatements. Lots of logical inconsistencies, etc. But maybe this is only yet another proof of the documentary genre's insufficiency as an educational medium.

Who had the most films in the countdown? I had 10/25.
16/25 (64%) for me, which is intriguing since I remained a steady 50% of Movies Seen. lol

I'd try the other but my math SUCKS

Not me, that's for sure. I was more towards the least amount making it.

I think I may have had the least. I only had 3 movies on my list that made the countdown.
