Red State(Kevin Smith Horror Movie)

When i first heard about this movie i wasn't too sure about because when i think Kevin Smith i do not think horror... I wasn't even sure it was true but i saw this interview http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/c...entryid=412463
and it really sounds interesting...
It is about taking opinions to the extreme and partly based on Fred Phelps and other people who take things too far and supposedly will be a horror movie and not a comedy which is another thing that really interests me to see how he will do it.
I also took from the interview that it will be an unconventional horror film which i am always on board for.. Hope its good and they are filming it soon along with another comedy later as well and i hope they are both good

Well I have total faith in Kevin Smith. If his scares are as sharp as his dialogue has always been, this could be one scary flick. Of course, there will be sprinklings of his comedic genius as well

Yeah, I can't imagine this not being a little bit silly, but then again mabye he is going to show us some of his dark side that isn't related to 'the force'.

There have only been a couple of his movies that I haven't enjoyed, and I look forward to seeing him jump into a different genre.

P.S. If Jay and Silent Bob make a cameo I'm going to have to write Smith off.

Red State? sounds like some Micheal Moore propaganda documentary. Who knows? I think Kevin Smith has a dark side, I thought it was a little evident in "Dogma"

Though not announced yet, it has been said that it will include a Fred Phelps-like character as a villain. According to Smith, "It's certainly not Phelps himself but it's very much inspired by a Phelps figure... And to me, too, the notion of using a Phelps-like character as a villain, as horrifying and scary as that guy can be, there's even something more insidious than him that lurks out there in as much as a public or a government that allows it and that's the other thing that I'm trying to examine in a big, big way." "Red State" refers to a state which typically votes Republican, though Fred Phelps has ran as a Democrat several times for a variety of offices on both the state and federal level.

I'm actually looking forward to this one. Judging from the snippets I've read on his Myspace blog in the past, it sounds like it could be quite good. I'm definitely looking forward to it more so than Zack and Miri Make a Porno, I can tell you that much.
