The Machinist

Just recently watched it and it blew my mind away. Christian Bales transformations are insane btw.

The plot here is unfortunate. The Fight Club plot twist has been done before, and at that point, the split personality thriller plot is not really any less formulaic than the romantic comedy.

But it's the implementation that shines here. The directing, lighting, sound and shots really give it a dark, creepy, seedy atmosphere that makes the viewer feel the delusion and chaos that the main character is going through. It's also memorable for Bale's performance and the extreme weight loss he did for the role. 8/10
