Ahhh damn. Cursed with insomnia last night, I heard the news on the radio around 5.30am, just as I was drifting off to sleep. I knew he wasn't well but it still came as a massive shock. I cried myself to sleep.

Bowie was a proper hero of mine - My parents christened me David because of him and I was brought up on his early stuff. As a child I bought:



As a teenager, I mainlined Low and Heroes and this became my favourite:



Rest easy, Dame David. I'll even forgive you Tin Machine.

I've been so psyched about his new album Blackstar since they released the title song. I think that will be my next vinyl, then. It has to be.

Shocked to see this news today – I had seen part of Labyrinth over Christmas after many years and it's still a great film.
