Movie about a russian army team and a russian warship

Hi,

I remembered watching a war movie from russian's side fighting rough americans. As far a I know, the movie came out in 1980's. Some scenes I can remember:
Ship goes general quarters, manning all battle stations (like sonar etc, so no historical movie about a sail ship)
Hero of the movie dramatically got killed by an american from a defeated war ship.

Can you help me finding the title?
