My 100 Favoriteish Movies

Five years ago, this site inspired me to create my first Top 100 list. I have just made a new version and figured I'd share this time. I tried not to overthink the list (especially the top), which just reflects my feelings at a particular moment. I don't plan to write blurbs for each movie, but would of course be happy to discuss them.

You mentioned that this site inspired you to create your first Top 100 list five years ago. Were you a member back then under a different username?

Nope. I usually don't post anything online other than the very occasional YouTube video. I used to read the IMDb forums a lot, so I checked out this place when they shut down.

These two are great movies. A lot of people talk about how good The Fugitive is, but I think Phone Booth is underrated.

Aside from being a great thriller with a cool concept (I love "gimmicky" stories like this, as you can probably tell from some of the movies in my first post), the scene in the picture is the only movie scene I can remember making me cry as a teen. Season 2, Episode 15 of 24 also did this, so I might just have an issue with Kiefer Sutherland talking on the phone.

The Remains of the Day is an exquisite choice..

Others I like are; The Fugitive, Phone Booth, Inglourious Basterds and I really need to watch Loving Vincent.

From your old list I like; Prisoner of Azkaban, Ong-Bak, Inception, Unleashed, Days of Future Past and The Winter Soldier.

Thank you! "Exquisite" is an appropriate word for that film.

Loving Vincent is basically a PBS murder mystery presented with, well, exquisite animation.

I'm generally not a fan of political movies, but Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is one of the best.

#72
The Avengers (2012)
PR: 38
The Avengers is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again. I usually watch it whenever I'm flipping channels and I find it playing.

I'm still surprised at how much I enjoy it.

The only reason I have it this low is there are three more that are just as good.

The Rookie is one of my favorite baseball movies. I even considered it for my list of my Top 25 Movies of the 2000s.

I'm a baseball fan, but not usually a fan of baseball movies. This is one of two on my list. I'm also a Dennis Quaid fan based almost entirely on his performance and likeability in this movie.

Baseball is one of the few sports that I enjoying watching, both the games and the movies.
